The White Sox are not going to field a brand new offense next season.

They probably aren't going on another major shopping spree, especially to the extent of last off-season, which leaves internal improvement and trading pitching for major league ready offensive talent as their primary options of improvement.

Some of this group (Garcia, Thompson, Cabrera, Sanchez, La Roche, M.Johnson) do need to have to good seasons next year if the team's offense has any chance of showing improvement.

Would a team like the Dodgers really trade 3 or 4 top prospects for Sale when they can dip into the free agent market? I know Sale will have a great contract as compared to any free agent that they pay $25 a year too for 7 seasons, but trading much of their top young talent could result in them eventually spending in free agency to supplement those losses.

Sale is just tough to trade. In theory, yes, it sounds logical to consider moving him for a team's top 4 prospects. However, a teams top 4 prospects may contain only 1 of the top 50 MLB prospects, and perhaps 2 or 3 of the top 75-100. It's tough to move him unless the team in question happens to have a ton of MLB top prospects, say at least 3-4 top 50 MLB prospects. Generally speaking, who are these teams? Dodgers, Astro's, Cubs, and who else? I think those are the only teams I could even talk with.

here's what I would do, not that it would accomplish anything. FA market is shit.

C - Flowers
1B - Abreu
2b - Sanchez
SS - Salad
3B - Olt/? Platoon
LF - Melky
CF - Eaton
RF - Thompson
DH - Avi/Larouche/Thompson

DO NOT TRADE PITCHING. YOU WILL FUCK IT UP. Maybe at the trade deadline when somebody is a desperate case.
