Sad really.

But not unexpected.

They're jealous. They know the history.

He learned quick this year. Velocity is still high and his stuff is aces.

Sale, Rodon, Quintana...not a bad 1-2-3

Barring any unexpected trades, horrible spring training performances or SHARK accepting the QO, the rotation looks to be set:

1) Sale
2) Quintana
3) Rodon
4) Danks
5) Johnson

They should resign Albers, who has had a great season, and the bullpen is pretty much set as well; I'm not even sure there would be any spots open outside, although I don't trust Petricka and Putman.

Robertson, Albers (if resigned), Z.Duke, J.Petricka, N.Jones, Z.Putman, D.Jennings

Sounds a lot like the Rongey/Kenny/Hahn plan. Keep most of the team that is 73-81, add a couple over the hill veterans, hope that the players who sucked this year have a miraculous turnaround. Bad plan.

The White Sox are not going to field a brand new offense next season.

They probably aren't going on another major shopping spree, especially to the extent of last off-season, which leaves internal improvement and trading pitching for major league ready offensive talent as their primary options of improvement.

Some of this group (Garcia, Thompson, Cabrera, Sanchez, La Roche, M.Johnson) do need to have to good seasons next year if the team's offense has any chance of showing improvement.

This team needs to do something. That's for sure.

Would a team like the Dodgers really trade 3 or 4 top prospects for Sale when they can dip into the free agent market? I know Sale will have a great contract as compared to any free agent that they pay $25 a year too for 7 seasons, but trading much of their top young talent could result in them eventually spending in free agency to supplement those losses.

Sale is just tough to trade. In theory, yes, it sounds logical to consider moving him for a team's top 4 prospects. However, a teams top 4 prospects may contain only 1 of the top 50 MLB prospects, and perhaps 2 or 3 of the top 75-100. It's tough to move him unless the team in question happens to have a ton of MLB top prospects, say at least 3-4 top 50 MLB prospects. Generally speaking, who are these teams? Dodgers, Astro's, Cubs, and who else? I think those are the only teams I could even talk with.

here's what I would do, not that it would accomplish anything. FA market is shit.

C - Flowers
1B - Abreu
2b - Sanchez
SS - Salad
3B - Olt/? Platoon
LF - Melky
CF - Eaton
RF - Thompson
DH - Avi/Larouche/Thompson

DO NOT TRADE PITCHING. YOU WILL FUCK IT UP. Maybe at the trade deadline when somebody is a desperate case.

They're probabky going to lose Greinke. Cub fans keep insisting Price is coming to the Cubs. Who are the top pitchers LA could sign? Cueto? Samardzija?

You talking about bringing this lineup back next year? Why would you assume it will work better next year than it did this?

Thats what is so great about the Sox organization. Its not a bad lineup, you just dont know what you are talking about . They do. Its much better than it was!

OK. I will trade Quintana for Bryant and Baez and Soler and all our problems would be solved.

Losing pitcher John Danks at it again. If only they had a decent 5th starter...

You're trying too hard and, at the same time, making zero sense.

another blown save. 33 for 40 with a 3.47 ERA.

good dolphin would still trade the farm for 3/36M of that production.

If you are going to bash Robertson, at least get the facts correct. He got the L last night. Tie game, so it was not a blown save.

how was the farm traded?

I've already refuted your silly "opportunity cost" argument.

the sox fan intelligentsia (hilarious to think of the concept) will tell you that Robertson has had a tremendous year and GMs will be lining up to trade for him.

no team is going to trade the farm or anything other than a bucket of seeds for the guy.

he's a vastly overpaid middle reliever.

Abreu with his 2nd 30 home run 100 RBI season. Nice way to start a career.

I think Ventura literally pulled the lineup out of a hat today.
