let him make his final start. There is nothing lost by letting him go six more low impact innings

If he wasn't going for the team all time strike out record Sale would also be shut down.

Makes some sense to shut down Rodon why risk any chance of an injury in meaningless games at seasons end.

Ride SHARK like a rented mule at this point.

I'm fine with shutting him down. He threw 149.1 innings in a very successful rookie season. He has plenty to build on so give that last start to Montas and let him cement the fact that he belongs in the bullpen.

There's a big difference between playing out the string when already mathematically eliminated and intentionally choosing to lose at the beginning of the season.

I don't think one last start is going to make or break him. He has clearly shown he has the stuff to be in the big leagues, and after some early growing pains he really turned into quite a solid starter. Let him take what he has learned and he can build on it for next year.

His arm already has tons of miles on it. Sox obviously hoping to delay the inevitable TJ surgery by minimizing his innings where they can.

He really turned it on in August/September. Has something to build off of for next year.

Cubs fans love to play "TJ" card. They said it very often about another young Sox lefty. I may have forgotten a few of them, but how many arm surgeries are Chris Sale had since he came into the league?

Famous last words. He started to show signs of wear this season.

Keep reaching. Last year he actually spent time on the DL. Not so this year.
