I am beginning to see why White Sox fans hate Cub fans. This post and the moronic fans that want the Cubs to lose is mind blowing.

Just FYI you're a type of Cub fan that White Sox fans hate.

FYI, you are the type of person everyone hates. ;) <Smiley makes everything OK>

Disagree.

Nas, spmack and Douchebag took turns parading me around the streets of Chicago on their shoulders last weekend.

I ACTUALLY laughed out loud when I saw this.

I trust that Jake will not falter after 19 straight quality starts. He seems to be at his best when the lights of National attention are shining. Look at the No Hitter against the Dodgers, an ESPN national telecast. His 7 shutout innings featuring just 1 hit on Sunday, also an ESPN Sunday night game. I think he will come up with another stellar effort in the wildcard game.

I don't think Lester will be on the roster, and I think they will be willing to gamble on Arietta doing his job for 7 IP+ and turning it over the bullpen to close it out, if needed.

They are going to have 15 or 16 position players active and only 9 (maybe 10) pitchers. If Lester is on the roster, his primary role would be if Arrieta scuffled in the first 2 or 3 innings and the Cubs were behind early. I don't know that I see him coming in to face one hitter in the 8th inning of a tight game, but I could be overplaying the importance of having him ready for Game 1 of a series that won't happen if they lose.

“Of course,” manager Joe Maddon said before Tuesday’s 4-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. “We haven’t decided (anything yet). It depends on when this thing happens. Like say if – God forbid – a line drive or even warming up something happens, then you would want somebody like (Jon).

Congratulations, Jimmy

Although I believe he was asked about Lester being on the roster, he didnt bring it up.

And he didn't mention Lester by name. He said 'like him.'

Meaning a starter or reliable long reliever.

man,oh,man your something else!

I do enjoy you and RPB though. Your Cubs analysis is usually thorough and on the money.
I know I shoot from the hip but everybody is different.

I think Lester has to be on the WC roster. The game is really low scoring and gets to the 11th or 12th and you've burned Wood/Richard/Cahill already. Do you want to go with Tommy Hunter there???

Better to have Lester pitch and if he only throws 25-30 pitches, come back on short rest for Game 2.

If the Cubs cannot trust any combination of Rondon, Wood, Cahill, Richard, Strop, Rodney, Ramirez, Grimm....they're already screwed. You can't hide the bullpen for the entire month of October.

And I don't think they need to be hidden.

I don't really trust anyone of the staff past the starters. It's been a roller coaster all season when the relievers come in.

Thanks in advance for the warm and fuzzy welcome.
