In the spirit of Thanksgiving - and the negativity of sports talk radio - what three things are you LEAST thankful for?

Take 3 in the MJH Forum!

Three Things You're LEAST Thankful for

1) Butter patties served on ice cubes in fine restaurants (how the hell are you supposed to spread the damned butter without tearing the bread to shreds) ...besides you should just use olive oil. ;)

2) Corn dogs - what were they thinking?

3) Ben Wallace - basketball's answer to Shaun Alexander

I'd also like to take this opportunity to wish everybody a happy and safe Thanksgiving weekend. Buckle up and travel safely. Don't drink and drive. Eat in moderation. ...and keep things in perspective when at gatherings with family and friends - usually, nothing is worth arguing over, except sports.

Same to you Grid...but Corn Dogs Number 2? What did they ever do to you? Don't eat them. Personally I love to have a corn dog every now and then. Great snack food.

My list isn't up for debate. Just hit me up with your's. On a side note, my daughter told me upon my death, she was going to put some corn dogs in my casket just to aggravate me for eternity.

Ha. It sounds like maybe this is an internal family battle. Mrs. Grid might make them as an easy dinner for the kids one night and Mr. Grid wants none of it.

Three Things Darkside is NOT Thankful for:

1. Angry Lesbians. OK, we get it, you couldn't get fucked by a live man and now you hate them all. Cool, put your rainbow sticker on your F-150 and leave me the fuck alone. And can someone tell me why all angry lesbians have femullets? No one digs that, even other angry lesbians. At least we can both agree on our taste in crotch though, so you got that going for you. Oh, and thank you so much for ruining my illusions of the "lipstick lesbian". When I was a child I thought that was so sexy, two hot women making out. But now when I see two women together one looks like Barney Rubble and the other looks like Dick Butkus. Please, angry lesbians, leave your sexuality at home!
2. Angry Mothers. You know who I mean, the moms who want EVERYTHING taken off the shelves or taken out of your gun safe "for the children's sake." Do any of you angry moms have any idea how much better and safer the world would be if you actually paid attention to your kids and teach them how not to grow up total douchebags? NO! It's much easier to drink multiple glasses of a classy merlot and discuss the latest episode of Sex in the City while letting the television babysit your children. You know what? Get a job and put your kids in day care so at least someone can raise your children for you, you lazy slut.
3. Angry Born agains. Oh yeah, you were an asshole your whole life, and suddenly you find some religion and you are now a self rightous asshole who thinks you're so much better than me. Most of you Angry Born agains think that once you take Jebas that your shit smells like Channel Number 5 and that you are on a mission to convert me. You know what? Jebas hates fakes and liars. So, go tell it on the Mountain cause I don't want to hear it anymore.

Spaulding is least thankful for...

1) In-laws

2) 2007 Bears season

3) In-laws

Did you know turkeys can drown if they look up when it is raining? Have a safe & happy holiday.

Grid, I really like your daughter! I also like corn dogs so what do I know.

I am least thankful for
Traffic
Laundry
All of my co-workers that have kids and guilt me into buying wrapping paper, cashews, and popcorn. What happened to Thin Mints?

1) Hosting T-Giving - It's our turn this year. Spend all day today preparing. Spend all day tomorrow serving & entertaining. Spend all day Friday cleaning up. Joy.

2) Individual Health Insurance - As a freelancer, I have a non-employer plan...and the cost is going up for the third time in 6 months. It will soon be cheaper to get sick without insurance than it is to keep the policy.

3) Other people's trees - I have no trees in my yard yet it's absolutely covered with leaves. I am constantly fighting the urge to go bitch at my neighbors to get their damn leaves off of my lawn.

GREAT list, DS.

Mine would be:

1) Non-rush hour traffic jams. Seriously. Fuck you guys.

2) The 2007 Cubs Playoff appearance. Why did you even bother...

3) Sean Payton's gameplan. RUN THE FARGING FOOTBALL, ICEHOLE!

That's just what's off the top of my mind right now..

1. Reality shows that end each segment before commercial by previewing what's still to come on this show and then return from commercial by reviewing what just happened on today's episode so far

2. Everyday when I show up for work and realize that I still work there and not somewhere else.

3. Any time I turn on ESPN (tv/radio) and see or hear Sean Salisbury

With you completely on corndogs, Gridness. They can be ignored, however, as WR suggested. The lemon wedge on a glass of water in a restaurant cannot be ignored. Did I ask for a lemon? Did you think I wanted the glass to be lemon tainted? Unless I ASK for lemon, keep your fucking lemon for somebody who wants it.

But.... back to the topic....

Least thankful for (sports) ...

1) The most flawed method of determing a champion: college football. The more I think about it, the more sadness I feel as I love college football and it is more fucked up than hockey.

2) Excessive Red Sox-Yankees/ Bonds/ Vick nonsense. Where is the joy? Screw those stories.

3) Tony Kornheiser

honorable mentions: all things wrigley field. lovie smith's $22 million contract. brian urlacher's immaturity.

Non-sports

1) Gas stations catering to old people buying a bunch of lotto tickets while I'm attempting to pay for a tank of gas and a newspaper.

2) Skyway commuters without an I-PASS in the I-PASS lane.

3) Wind. Nothing ruins a nice day outside like high winds.

honorable mentions: music since the '70s. kids playing more x-box 360 than sports/musical instruments. newspaper/radio/tv people with no command of the English language.

this has the potential to be angriest and or most depressing thread ever.
so, seeing how it's been cold and rainy, i'm a 32 single man who lives with a pet lizard, and i look forward to work so i can talk to people...
i'd rather put a mechanical pencil in my eye than go down this road.

My 12-year-old kicks ass on GH3, but refuses to pick up the axe and give his older brother's electric guitar an honest effort. He is beating the skins (my new Ludwig kit with Zildjian symbols) at a competent level.

frank coztansa's band is looking for a drummer...he'd probably accept "competent" at this point.

Get a newspaper subscription and pay at the pump :P.

I feel the same way when I run in to get a drink and end up standing in line forever.

he would. we got a call last nite from a 55 year old illegal immigrant. i wouldnt care who i played with at this point, but the fact that INS might raid one of our shows is a pretty big negative. Though, we'd probably have trouble getting somebody that young into a bar to play a show. Tell him we'll give him an audition, Mac :P

least thankful;

Healthcare-- the cost of it

Student Loans-- partly the cost, but more so all of the fucking red tape and paperwork you have to do just to simply go to college.

Our dependence on oil. The next new car I buy will be a Prius.

honerable mentions: wrigley field, dave matthews band, country music, broken guitar strings, asshole drivers (last nite, i was crossing the street-- at an intersection and i had the green light. some fuckjob just comes barreling through the intersection and turned right literally 3 feet in front of me. good thing i had some pennies in my pocket, and i hope theres at least a scratch on his precious SUV now), as it stands right now kenny williams

Least thankful for:
1) People who hit the brakes as soon as they see a cop on the expressway / tollway. As long as your not speeding excesively, they're not going to pull you over.
2) 2007 Chicago sports season (w/ the possible exception of the Hawks)
3) My frickin fantasy football teams that are piss poor this year.

Traffic should be automatically crossed from the list, WHO (besides petroleum companies) actually LIKES traffic jams?

Mac, I'm with you on the Lotto buying people causing gridlock (he heh) at the gas station.
