I'm not a fan of antics but they don't generally bother me.

Louie the Lizard was way better than the frogs. Remember eventually every frog has to croak.

Pedro Strop would be my favorite player if he didn't suck and bat flips are awesome. I also miss the over the top TD celebrations in football.

Really? I see what he's saying.

Like that recently referred to play where Brady juked Urlacher and fist pumped? You dont think Patriots fans got more excited when he did that? I think that kind of stuff fires up a lot of fans

I dont think anyone gets excited by the watching home runs though

BTW, how weird is it that the Asian culture embraced the bat flip?

If you like the TD celebrations than you also have to like the ass kickings that come with the celebrations.

Horn's cell phone celebration is great. My top 2 are TO's popcorn and Ocho's renaissance dance at Soldier Field.

I also like the opposite. There was something really cool about Barry Sanders being so much better than everyone else on the field and casually flipping the ball to the ref after he scored.

Barry and Deion Sanders were my two favorite players as a kid. Both couldn't be more opposite of each other.

TO disrespecting the star at midfield vs the Cowboys was awesome. I think it was Woodson who lit him up after TO tried it a second time and Emmitt got all pissed and ran to the star and slammed the football on it after he scored. The whole thing was cool.

It's almost like the whole thing is meant to be ...... entertainment?!?

It's not a bunch of people with monocles and top hats and sticks up their asses telling each other, "I say there old chap, ..." and playing fucking chess. Come to think of it, imagining Bobby Fischer giving Garry Kasparov a victorious DX crotch-chop is pretty funny.

So you enjoy brawls in football. I don't dismiss your opinion. It is not mine.

It begs the question of whether that is entertaining.

Harry Teinowitz went on the air every day for decades telling jokes and trying to have a good time. He wasn't entertaining.

Seems to me he has a point here. You hear about hitters getting shit for this way more than pitchers.

Pitchers didn't used to do that shit either. But from a practical standpoint, the batter isn't in a position to throw a 100 mph fastball at the pitcher's head.

Pitchers who carry on like jesters should be beaten with a bat. A fungo bat, so nobody gets killed though.

Seriously, I think the difference is that the pitcher is standing alone in the middle of the field. Showing him up is a lot different than fist-pumping or shooting an imaginary arrow after a strikeout, as annoying as that shit may be. It just seems more personal.

The Twins came out of that looking like the bigger tools than the guy who hit the home run.

Perhaps it's the neanderthal in me, but I've wondered on a few occasions why at some point someone didn't decide to get up, dust themselves off, pick up the bat, and make a beeline to the pitcher to somewhat repay the fella in kind for such an untoward gesture.

 @ kurt suzuki "get the fuck off the field motherfucker!"

i hate posing and bat flipping, but those twins look like a bunch of fucking schoolgirls standing there yelling at him. either shut up and sit down, or go out there and kick his ass at home plate and start a brawl. what a bunch of babies standing there yelling. they should be yelling at nolasco for walking kipnis and then throwing that sad-looking shit right over the middle of the plate.

edit - understood it was an intentional walk.
