Season series: Cubs 10-6.

RH Dan Haren (9-9, 3.83) vs. RH Josh Smith (0-2, 7.23).

Wednesday: 6:10 p.m., WGN-9.
LH Jon Lester (10-12, 3.43) vs. RH Anthony DeSclafani (9-12, 3.91).

I actually think the opposite.

I think with last night's game Hendricks nailed down a game two starters position (when the Cubs beat the Pirates). Depending on how Harren does he might be the 4th starter or that can be the bullpen day. I'd like to see this team on a role going into the playoffs.

I'm with you.

If the Cub advance, I'd be much more comfortable handing the ball to Hendricks right now over Hammel.

i believe w_z is referring to the regular season still dragging along. wild card game isn't until next wednesday the 7th!

But I disagree with that.

This is one last hurrah for end of rotation guys to cement their role in a postseason rotation. Hendricks stepped up against a really fantastic offense. Hopefully Haren or Hammel finish strong. Get some confidence going.

I know me personally I've probably watched more games this season than I have in the last four seasons combined. I would like to be able to take a little break until the wild card game but personally I'd also like to see how things pan out with Grimm as he was such an important part of this team just a few weeks ago.And maybe have this team on a big roll heading into the wild card game as well.

I feel that way too. Hendricks has been good in his last 2 starts VS the Royals and Brewers. Much more trust in him than Hammel right now.

Nice when you can spot Haren a 4-0 lead before he takes the mound.

I don't know if there are more than 5,000 fans in the ballpark and I think the majority are wearing blue. Both teams seem to be going through the motions after the 1st inning, when the Cubs scored their 4 runs. Haren has only given up 1 hit through 5 innings.

The Reds have lost 10 straight now. It's their longest losing streak since June 14-24 1998, when they lost 11 straight. Since August 14th, the Reds are 12-32. Jon Lester will try to make it 11 straight tonight, to tie that 1998 mark.

Since being moved to 2nd on August 11th - he's hitting .365 with 6 hr and 21 RBI.. Ops of 1.009

This has been the craziest game. DeSclafani starts the game striking out 6 of the first 7, then goes 0-2 on Lester. He then proceeds to walk him, and the wheels fall off. With Votto and Frazier given the day off, this is a AAA team and the Cubs are rightfully destroying them.

Baez now playing 1st!

Austin Jackson has been mostly horrible at bat until this game. But he sure did have a night, along with Castro. Nice to see Neil Ramirez pitch again, even if he wasn't in peak form. Sure would be nice to have him return to 2014 form in time for the playoffs.

Austin Jackson playing his way into jimmy's heart these last week of the season.

On a side note, this Lamb character the Reds have run out there today just might be the most handsome man in Major League Baseball.

Is Matches the first openly gay member of this board? I'm happy that we're breaking new ground on CSFMB.
