in kind of a fortunately/unfortunately scenario Hawk is expected to return with a reduced workload.

no word on the status of Rongey.

Wouldn't Rongey have to leave the Score to do that job? If I were him, that's his meal ticket; he needs to be on that train.

imagine the sour puss on Rongey as WSCR enjoys Cubstasia while he's on WLS broadcasting to a handful of pissed off old men.

You mean Walt and crusty lawyer Bob?

With the Sox,the sideshow seems more interesting than actual baseball.

Been that way for years!!

Actual Sox guy for you youngsters!

Hey Jimmy do you remember the mid 60s White Sox? Now that team kicked some fucking ass. 99 wins in 1964!

Yes, it's been that way for many years. All 10!

Now if they liked each other, that might be a good start.

This is just the best example of the Sox organization, that this needed to be done ....and needed to be done NOW. They (Jerry) really thinks they have something special in the media guys they employ.

I actually like DJ, he can be funny and also has the balls to take it to poor play and all that. Doesn't run cover like everyone else. At least not as often. A shame they can't put him with Stone on TV or someone else on the radio. Farmio is bad and they have ZERO chemistry.

Farmer is like a fucking game show host with the non stop questions. Sounds like a single A broadcast. Brutal.

The questions are because these 2 have nothing else to talk about . They have nothing in common other than baseball. Its why the Score uses all the drops where these guys try to talk about anything else and they NEVER connect on anything.

This is just another example of an entire organization that is so unself aware of the problems and mistakes it continues to make from the top down! Almost really amazing at this point that changes arent made.

 I'm not really looking for them to talk about anything other than baseball. Unlike Cub fans, I'm not hanging on the edge of my seat to get Len Kasper's opinion on the Buzzcocks.

Ya know there is some downtime in a baseball and most people when they talk to each other, other things come up, because they find some common ground.

the only common ground these 2 have is "Did you ever hit into a triple play? " "Nope!" "Did you?" "nope"..........silence for the next 45 seconds, because Sox fans only want to hear baseball.

JORR you really gonna go down the "We only want baseball" thing still. "We are Sox nation" ....

Although I dont think Radio guys matter these days in the sense that they will drive people away from the product, as you only listen to the radio as a secondary option, HOWEVER, they can be seen as an asset....and maybe even a stepping stone for 2 guys on TV that also dislike each other and add to terrible brand management.

I like DJ.....Farmer is awful and always has been.

I honestly would listen to more Sox games on the radio if the voice was someone other than Farmer.

Sox radio has sucked since 2005 when Rooney left.

I personally can't stand DJ's vocal tone. It's the same issue I have with Reggie Miller. Just drives me bonkers. I don't mind Farmer.

Not that I have any idea who other teams announcers are, but I'd wager that the Sox have arguably the worst (least likeable) TV and Radio broadcasters overall...

Stoney, for all his smug and smarm is the only bright spot in the black pit of hell that is Sox announcing.

In little quantities, yes.

He has fully embraced the "Cardinal Nation" mindset.

Well Doug...Fanraphs almost agrees with you as the worst...The Yankees pair beat them out.

Notes
Many commenters note that, while quite capable when he served as the color commentator alongside John Rooney, Farmer is less well suited for play-by-play work, which he’s adopted since Rooney’s departure from the booth. Many commenters note that, if the pair have a charm, it’s off the odd-couple variety. Other readers refer to that same dynamic as “hating each other.”
