Why are Cub fans so depressed?

First playoff appearance since 2008 and they are very upset about:

1) the retention of Robin Ventura
2) the loss of Luis Valbuena
3) the firing of Mark Parent
4) the signing of Jon Lester
5) winning a playoff game when losing would be better for the future.

I'd feel bad for a handful of Cubs fans if they did lose on Wednesday.

spanky may or may not be one of them.

Luckily it won't matter.

1) Nolan Ryan's punching bag...I couldn't be happier he stayed. The Sox are the WXRT of baseball...jobs for life.

Exact same vibe I had in 2008 / 2009 for the Blackhawks. I guess we were lucky enough to not have many Blues fans who are almost as miserable as White Sox fans.

the last time i heard that was when the cubs were coming home from Miami with a 3-2 series lead and Prior lined up for game 6 and Wood for game 7 (which wouldn't be necessary anyway). the cubs never just "get" anything, they are going to have to play a great game tonight to win.
