I'll say no for Ranger. You normally have to pay your dues before you get a big TV job in a big market. Ranger has only filled in on the radio a few times. He just needs to get some experience. Maybe do minor league play by play.

Dave Wills would come back home to do 81 games I'm sure.

Here's what they might do. Ranger goes to WLS for pre and post. Ranger does play by play for the home games as well. With Farmer going to TV for the home games only.

I wouldn't like it. But Farmer might ask for that and Jerry likes him. Plus he'd get more money for doing TV half the year. That pays more.

I think it would be a pretty appealing job. You get to do 81 home games with no travel. So you get to live in the city all summer. A lot of guys would love the "No travel".

So it's basically working every other 8 or 9 days all summer. Pretty nice.

Why is Hawk just doing the road games? That makes no sense.

He doesn't want to do the 2 hour drive back and forth to Granger Indiana anymore. That's where he lives. Because it's where his kids live.

Get Wills to come back and do 120 games:

- The 81 on TV that Hawk isn't going to do.
- 20 more on TV to sit in for Stone so Stone doesn't kill Hawk with a fork
- 20 more on the radio to give Ed and DJ a break from each other

Or just do 120 on radio and have Ed and DJ each do 40 on TV. Or something.

Just get him. I listen to him and Andy Freed do the Rays home games on the radio on XM when I'm driving home from work, and they are excellent. Wills could even make Farmer useful.
