The pitching is great. It's the hitting I'm concerned about. Gonna give Bryant a pass as he was probably pressing to get 100 RBI's, but I don't want to see that striking out with RISP and less than two outs crap during this World Series run.

I try to tell him that, but I get lost in his eyes.

Hating the Cubs but thinking about them 24/7 has got to be a sign of mental illness.
Enjoy life. I get being a Sox fan has got to be horrible but pick another team.
I hear the Expos have at least 1 hardcore fan you could join.

Hating?

I am sincere. I said I would have no negativity towards the team during the playoffs. I have not had one negative post since 9 am which I will call the beginning of their post season.

Some people are impossible to please

My bad. I totally misread your last 2,000 posts in the Cubs section.

Glad you're aboard.

Tom - Friend of Harry's: Harry, I've visited you every Christmas for the past five years, and to this day I can never understand this extraordinary ritual of toasting the health of your old uncle Ebenezer. I mean, everyone knows he's the most miserable old skinflint that ever walked God's earth.
Ebenezer Scrooge: [glaring] Who's he?
Ghost of Christmas Present: Oh... just a friend.
Nephew Fred: My dear Tom, it's very simple. He is indeed a despicable old miser, worse than you could ever possibly imagine.
[Ghost of Christmas Present bursts out laughing]
Ebenezer Scrooge: You find this amusing?
Ghost of Christmas Present: Believe it or not, he likes you.
Nephew Fred: See, I look at it this way: If I can wish a Merry Christmas to him, who is beyond dispute the most obnoxious and parsimonious of all living creatures, then I know in my heart that I am truly a man of goodwill.

Gotta go with the Manny Ramirez attitude in this situation.

If we win great, let's enjoy it. If not, no big deal. It's just a game.

I think that's the Jay Cutler attitude.

We Cub fans have been down this road before. I hope none of us gets too upset if things don't go our way in Pittsburgh.

I started watching Cub baseball in 84. I cried when Garvey and his hairy forearm were circling the bases. In 89 I wanted bad things to happen to Will Clark and those split fingered pitchers the Giants rolled out there. In 98 I knew we had no chance. Gary Gaetti can only take you so far.

2003 hurt the most but after that I vowed to relax and I have. The Arizona sweep had me laughing when Lily threw a tantrum and the Dodgers sweep I still can't figure out.

I'm just enjoying the ride wherever it takes us.

It's all random anyways and every team has an equal shot.

Anyone who had the Cubs making the playoffs and going deep into the playoffs before the season began, should be upset if they don't beat the Pirates on Wednesday. Anyone else, should see this as gravy. They made the playoffs a year earlier than most anyone had expected and the experience they have gotten and will continue to get in the playoffs is valuable. I think they will beat the Pirates with Arrieta pitching and I like their chances after that, against a depleted Cardinals squad. But this season they have already exceeded my expectations.
