Package him in a deal for a quality starter from a team needing to dump salary. He's owed 40M through 2019 so find a SP owed 60M+ and make a deal.

Shields?

Is he the best contact hitter in the league during the second half of the season?

What are you basing that on?

I would like to know this as well.

ON FIRE

What a resurgence. He is hitting well over .400 with a 1.100+ OPS since mid August.

Not only is he hitting, he is driving the ball. Before his switch from SS to 2B, he was just slapping the ball around and hitting lots of weak ground balls. Now he's driving the ball and showing much more power. I like it!

On ESPN 1000 today.

Really great that he can speak English now...unfortunate that he couldn't be interviewed his first 2-3 seasons.

His career babip is .321. His 2015 second half babip is .325.

I stand corrected. the other day I was ranking players by fewest hard hit % and he was near the top. just assumed luck was how he hit .265.

In April, you'd be right. Several of his big RBI hits were 'cheap.'

He is driving the ball like a pro in the last 6-7 weeks. His LD% must be off the charts. His GD% was too high in the first half...and his babip suffered because of it. But his second half babip doesn't represent luck so much as he is himself again. He should be a 35+ double guy every season...
