Actually, I had given travelling to Pittsburgh serious consideration. I like the ballpark a lot and the last playoff game I was at (2003 in Atlanta) the Cubs clinched their only series win since 1908. I would love to see this game in person. 2 exceptional starting pitchers and 2 of the best teams in baseball. But I was just away this past weekend for my college Homecoming weekend and don't relish travelling again so soon. Besides PNC, there is lots to do there. Kayak on the Allegheny, Ditka's, Hines field and 3 Lakes golf club amongst them. It's not top shelf, but a good weekend can easily be had there.

I know you know this Steve, but I was just using you as a vehicle for the joke. It could have very easily been some other members of the board but I knew you'd take it in the best light.

I stayed at a place named Nemacolin, about a half hour outside of Pittsburgh. Great resort with world class golf. It was pricey but I was there at a convention.

Well aware of the use for the purposes of levity. But I had to respond, as I had given serious consideration to going. I know lots of people think about doing things, then do not do them and live with regret for having missed out. Going to Atlanta in 2003 was one of the best trips for a sporting event I have ever taken. I would say it was the best, but the trips I have taken with my Son were better in my mind because they were shared with him. But as long as I live, I will look back with great fondness on that trip and be glad I went.

I'm thankful that my best memories aren't of going to Pittsburgh and Atlanta.

Talking Baseball trips, not best memories in general. They were great trips to see baseball games. You always have enjoyed changing the facts to suit a slant that doesn't truly exist.

First you might want to learn to spell Elmhurst correctly. Secondly, we enjoyed 3 Baseball games, fishing, Kayaking and golfing. In addition, we got to dine at Ditka's. The fantasy you have about things you would love to have happen to you, didn't make it on the itinerary, nor did they happen spontaneously. But feel free to live out your own fantasies as you see fit. I'm not here to judge.....okay, maybe now and then. But not so much about this.

Haven't tried that and quite frankly can't say it has any appeal to me. But join in with somegay and live out your own fantasies as you see fit.

I must have been confused by all the other stuff you talked about doing there.

While they were great trips with lots of fun things included in the trips besides the baseball games, they don't make it onto the list of best memories, or even best trips. But they were very enjoyable trips. But feel free to alter the facts as you see fit in order for them to fit a narrative you find suitable for a derogatory post. It's not the first time.

So you were bragging about going on trips you don't really care much about?

Thanks for sharing your stories of average vacations!

A baseball trip to an opposing team's ballpark can be a lot of fun. I have been on a bunch of them. But don't confuse a baseball trip with a vacation. If you consider a weekend trip a vacation, you must not have had real vacations.

You cited you went to 3 baseball games, fished, kayaked, and golfed.

That must have been quite a busy 2-3 days!

It was. We fished Friday afternoon, went to Ditka's for dinner before we went to the game Friday night, went golfing Saturday morning, then kayaking on the Allegheny (they rent the kayaks under the bridge just outside the ballpark) Saturday a couple hours before the night game. Then the Saturday night game and the Sunday day game before coming home. Didn't do anything Sunday morning except go to breakfast, as we were pretty tired at that point. That's how I roll on Baseball trips. Always involves at least 1 round of golf and try to fit other things in too. Try to enjoy what the area has to offer.

Really? Okay with me that you might feel that way. Not too concerned with what you might enjoy doing on such a trip. Those were all things we wanted to do and enjoyed. I wouldn't change a thing.

Okay, but I like to enjoy a good meal and I like the Ribeye at Ditka's, so when I saw they had one there, it was an easy choice for me. I like what I like. If I were in another country or part of this country where they specialized in something different, I might have made a different choice. You can screw your wife/ girlfriend here. When you go to another part of the country do you feel compelled to screw a different woman? Not judging, just sayin....
