I think RPB already called the Pirates winning the world series.

They are built to win series.

GREAT OF defense....won a game v Cubs, kept them from losing to Cinci on Friday. 2 games of very recent memory that kept them from losing games due to the D

What scares me about the Bucs is the fact they lost this game last year (and the year previous too,I think). According to Darkside that will help them win this year.

Well, since the 2003 Cubs did win a divisional series,I'm thinking they will save it until the next series.

1-0 going into the 9th and Pirates bullpen breaks down for a final score of 5-0. Go Cubs. Go Cats

Would you prefer the Cub go home quickly or do you want them to go deep and then lose for more gratification?

9-3 Cubs

Arrieta gives up all 3, 2 of which are earned.

He drives in 5.

He destroys Roberto Clemente bridge after the game.

Could obviously go either way...stupid one game series....

But...

The Cubs do own the best road record in all of baseball and, of course, Jake Arrieta.

Stupid one game series is stupid.

Hopefully Jake is Jake, but it will be interesting to see how Maddon reacts if Arrieta runs into any early difficulty...t's been so long since Jake came out of a game due to poor performance.

As FavreFan eloquently put it yesterday...Jake Arrieta has perfected pitching.

hey e-moo, why aren't you trying to assemble the get-along-gang @ real time sports for the WC game? weeknight?

or could it be that y'all are too worried at the statistically-possible chance that the shit hits the fan in the veritable-game-7 and everyone wants to lock down in their cubbie bunker cuz they wont wanna be seen in public during the 3mins-3hrs that the cubs are doing the bataan death march to a loss?

and again i'm not saying that the scenario described in the last paragraph is in any way wrong or whatnot, cuz believe you me if the cubs fuck up on wednesday and i was super invested in the #WeAreGood dance music bumpered kumbayaaaaa!!!! it'd fucking kill me if the cubs didnt claim their birthright to a lengthy 2015 playoff run

My plans are not cemented. I have a group of friends getting something together, and if that falls through (marriages and kids) FF Leash and I discussed having a shindig at my place.

Only so much stuff can be talked about non present board members in one week.

Our hangouts consist of maybe 5% board talk. We did the obligatory bashing of spanky and panther...got that out of the way in the first 5 minutes. Then it was football, baseball and Golden Tee.

So let's say the game is tied 0-0 or 1-1, and there's a guy on third, two out, and Jake is up.

In what inning would you actually lift Jake for a pinch hitter to try and drive in the run?

For me, it wouldn't be until maybe the top of the 10th, and then only if McCutchen isn't due up in the bottom of the inning. More likely the top of the 11th. Jake's going to throw up to 130 pitches if it's close. None of that "let's save Zambrano for game 4" crap.... I want to punch Lou in the balls every time I think about that.
