He is there now. We don't need to speculate.

It seems so obvious, Rick. Why can't some people get it?

What else are they going to do? They can't cheer for their own team.

K.Bryant will be fine. Now you know why GM's don't like their star prospects to play their first series at home. Way too much pressure.

I have never heard of that blogger, or that sub-blog of Deadspin.

I will treat it with the same respect I bestow upon a 312player post.

This will likely be Bernstein's response, before he reads a different Deadspin article.

Well, if IMU hasn't heard of it...

It isn't one of their featured blogs. And I read a lot of Deadspin.

Cubs went 5-3 (.625 ball) in his absence and received an extra year of control. With Bryant they went 92-62 (.600 ball).

Plus, home field is nearly meaningless in baseball.

Other than that the article was great.

Clickbait. It is a shared article. Of course they would share it on their main page...that is how Deadspin works / one of the ways it generates income.

I do too, and I'd estimate they 'feature' that one 3-4 times a week.

If that was true, you would have heard of the regressing sub-blog. It's featured kind of a lot.

Ok, so Bryant actually hurts the Cubs?

And you'd be wrong, because they only have about 11 total articles in the last 5 months. It is unlikely that even half were shared on the main Deadspin page.

It looks to be basketball focused, which could explain why I haven't read it as much as FavreFan, for instance.

You are correct

Home team 53% win percent Visitor 47% nearly a coin flip.

that may be why I guessed a higher count as well.

I want to flip coins with you. I'll take the 53% side.

 So, 53/47 is not nearly meaningless?

You guys have been hanging out with your team scientist too long.

Kirkwood said road/home win percentages in baseball are nearly meaningless.

Rick's alter ego, THE INQUISITOR, agreed and even gave the percentages - 53/47 - which validated Kirkwood's statement.

Rick and JORR laughed and made fun of INQUISITOR.

I agreed with Kirkwood's statement and took a passive-aggressive swipe at pittmike.

A 6% better chance of winning is meaningless to you?

MLB is 53.9%. (let's call it 54%)

NHL is 55%, NFL is 57% and NBA is 60%.

Where is the cutoff between meaningless and meaningful?

This is dumb.

You'd rather play at home than away. With Arrieta pitching, it may not make a difference for the Cubs. But in all scenarios...home.

Butterfly effect means we could be extinct as a species (nuclear war) if Bryant was brought up any other time than he was.

What is this 53% chance based on? Playoffs games? Elimination games? Regular season games?

What I do know is for play in games the home team is 2-4. 33%

Cubs were right to play at Pittsburgh. Unless they're dumb for wanting a 66% chance of winning!?!?!!
