I bet he bats 9th... Maddon is going to get 8-9 innings out of him.

I'd be stunned if this happened

In that you don't think Arrieta will be effective enough or that Maddon will go Arrieta-Strop-Rondon even if Arrieta is cruising?

That's ridiculous.....before a crucial wildcard game? I'll bet it's a balloon animal artist and Castro will wear a balloon animal swan hat, instead of his Cubs hat.

Yes, let's continue talking shit about Castro. Because that makes ton of sense...forget that he was the best hitter on the team for the last 7 weeks of the season.

Correct. He was (I believe) the hottest hitter in baseball over the last 30 games. If not, he was in the team photo. I hope he stays hot in the playoffs. What a difference he could make. he could be the Jeff Blauser of the World Series Champion Braves team. It seems like it's often not the big star that is the MVP, but a player like Blauser, Mike Lowell or David Freese. Maybe Castro can be that guy???

He's been batting the pitcher 9th more lately. He even had Hendricks batting 9th the other day in Milwaukee. Which leads me to believe that most of this #8/#9 stuff was much more about not having Addison Russell see a steady diet of shitty pitches in the #8 spot than anything else.

I think that if the Pirates don't get to Jake early, he's going to go at least 8 unless his spot comes up in the lineup with RISP in the top of the 8th. He's probably good to go 130 pitches if necessary.

As far as the scapegoat, if there is one, it will probably be Russell ending two innings with RISP, and looking badly both times.

There's no goat. It's a great season and I'm happy to have them where they are.
Now let's go fuck those buckos up.

Some old guy for no apparent reason slit the throat of a goat on The Leftovers the other night.

That has to be a good omen.

Jason Goff predicted Castro will make a headline. Hopefully,he doesn't have a brain spasm.

Dave In Champaign's avatar needs to go on hiatus for a little while. I'm just saying, let's not tamper in God's domain here.
