Well, I don't think it's a reach to say that Suzyn Waldman has the most unpleasant voice of any broadcaster in baseball. If there were a man who sounded just like she did and was just as laughably incompetent as she is, everyone would make fun of that guy, too. I think Jess Mendoza does a good job, and Doris Burke does very well on NBA telecasts, but I heard Yankees radio and thought someone was playing a sick joke on me.

I actually don't mind Beth Mowins doing PBP. She has a slight southern accent, which works broadcasting out of Columbia or Nashville, she doesn't feel the need to over talk and she does a fairly straight forward call. I generally feel she's in the flow of the game.

Jessica Mendoza (like most color "analysts") needs to go the hell away. She is Captain Obvious, feels the need to fill every damn moment with some insipid attempt at analysis and steps on the natural sounds of any broadcast she's been on. When she dropped: "This team is filled with low ball hitters. I'd give them nothing but pitches up in the zone. They struggle with high pitches up in the zone", I wanted to pull an Elvis.

She's Lou Brock & Early Wynn bad. Sober Sutcliffe bad. Drunk Sutcliffe (after 60 seconds) bad.

Both are irrational, so no. Plenty of people have provided actual reasons based on Mendoza's abilities, that's cool. That's a lot different than saying I don't like a woman's voice.

Equating me with a gleefully-demonstrated racist in a dreadfully poor attempt to make a half-assed point is pretty low class, even for this place, so fuck you.

The problem with Mowins is that she often gets assigned to some real clunker 11:00am B1G games. Lots of those are a hard watch.
