Left field here can be tricky especially with little or no experience out there.

So you agree with Maddon's decision to put the better outfielder in LF?

He is fast but I am not so sure he is very experienced in left.

I think starting La Stella will be a mistake.

I would keep Bryant at 3B, put Jackson in LF and Schwarber is RF.

I agree with the lineup with the exception of LaStella. I know he has been a hot hitter and is a good fielder, but I would choose Baez at 3rd. I agree with Bryant in the outfield though. Mostly though, I feel great whenever Arrieta is pitching. 2-1 or 3-1 Cubs.

LaStella is known as being a great fastball hitter - speed does not matter either. (He turns around Aroldis fastballs, for example)

While Baez is also a good fastball hitter, I imagine he might chase a way-too-high fastball. He also won't see as many pitches as LaStella might.

Cubs have a lead after 5...you'll see Baez come in at third and Jackson enter in right. Or maybe Bryant goes to third and Coghlan goes to left. Jackson still in right. 25 guys is a lot of guys for one game...you might see a plethora of moves.

I would go Jackson in right over Schwarber, I like Lastella @ 3rd.

It doesn't make me mad (like it does CoF), it just doesn't make any sense. I can't think of any reason to do it now if it wasn't done for 95%+ of the season.

I think LaStella will be the MVP of this game.

Point me in the direction of who is doing this and I will be able to confirm/deny for you.
Those people should be outed, IMO.

Maybe the batting 8th thing is for making switches and he thinks/hopes to not make many or any switches tonight.

I was thinking that Maddon realizes the order isn't gonna flip over many times in a 2-0 no-hitter, so no need to worry about getting that 2nd bat in front of the big guys tonight.

Locals here getting excited and ready for a good game. My take is cub fans are dissing a pirates team that won 98 games and think Arrieta is a lock. Those 98 were not an illusion nor were the Cubs 97. Should be a good close game.

Yeah good call, none of us Cub fans have any respect for the Pirates.

I mean it is not like some of us have even said we thought the Pirates would win the World Series or anything.
