I think Avi may have more arm than Thompson, but I basically agree with the concept of having a four man rotation of outfielders/DH. Maybe the standard alignment should have Thompson in center with Eaton in left and Avi in right.

I would have little problem with a 4 player platoon in the OF. That may turn out to be above average in Of/Def.

The issue is with the infield. Do you really trust Sanchez and Saladino etc to make a step up? I'm still thinking you need an established player (that doesn't suck) thrown into the mix.

No, and I think it's going to be hard to improve without a big move, like trading Sale or at least Quintana.

If Anderson busts or can't play short, they have a real problem.

While I think we overpaid for Melky, he does have some productivity and agree in the concept of a 4 man OF with Melky at DH. We're also stuck with Eaton so we can only hope he doesn't have a repeat of this years first half.

The infield is a real disaster. For the love of God, please let Alexei move on. Sadly, I believe we'll see Alexei, Flowers, and LaRoche return and will be stuck with a really underwhelming team.

Doesn't look good.

#WhiteSox have outrighted Adrian Nieto off 40-man to Double-A Birmingham.

This was the rule 5 pick two years ago who spent all of 2014 on the major league 25 man.

This again is a reason why both Kenny and Buddy need to go ... they both fail to eventuate talent and then when they get it they fail to develop it.

Keyser are there any other catching prospects in the system who are near MLB ready?

He lasted longer than most rule 5 guys do.

Nieto is still in the organization. He was just removed from the 40 man roster which stands at 37 right now.

I just heard a stat that this is the first time in 66 years the White Sox failed to steal 3b all year. Amazing with the running Ventura seems to love.

FWIW, Professor Flaky on with M&H earlier said that he believes that the team that Shark signs with will be:

The Cubs.

Apparently Shark's new agent is tight with Jed and Theo.

I'm not all that weird, settle down with the inflammatory rhetoric.

Your disjointed posting from last night left the distinct impression that you had fallen and hit your head on your bathroom sink and sustained drastic cranial injuries.

Several posters pleaded with you to seek medical attention.

I wonder if they'll make a run at Daniel Murphy to play 3B. He'll turn 31 when the season starts. The Mets say they will not offer him a QO but I find that hard to believe considering the post season he's having. The Sox 1st round pick is protected and they will receive a supplemental pick for Zija so losing their 2nd rounder to sign Murphy will be a wash. I was think 3yr/$45M but it might take more aav. Maybe 3yr/$54M. I wouldn't give him 4 years.

That would be great to overpay for a guy that will never be as good as he has been this postseason ever again

I was thinking the same thing. He's BAD at 2B, but 3B is a lot easier. Depends what your scouts think his abilities would be there. we don't need any more butchers in the field. Sox could operate a slaughterhouse as is.

I think they should target Dioner Navarro at catcher. He's not great but he has had an occasional good season including in 2014. He was little used in 2015 when the signed Martin so even though he is 32 he should be fresh next year. They could probably get away with something like 6 millon per for two years.

There just isn't going to be a good replacement at 3B. I would recommend turtling up and highlighting defense at the position. Saladino was excellent in the field. Maybe just let him stay there next year. I don't want to give Alexi 10M. However, you are going to owe him a million on a buyout so it is really only 9. If the team is bad, move him at the trade deadline for the salary relief. Essentially they would only pay him 7. Better to do that and only be bound for 1 year than sign some mildly better player to a longer term deal.

That is a tight defensive infield with Saladino, Ramirez and Sanchez. It is frightening offensively. However, if I am the GM, I am going to define this team as a pitching and defensive group this year. You can win that way. Then you shed Danks, La Roche and Ramirez at the end of the year to spend big in 2016 off season.

The options for next year aren't great. I'm still of the belief that this team as situated has 81-85 win talent.

I agree it depends on if they think he can handle 3B. He only struck out 38 times in 538 PA's this season so he puts the bat on the ball which is something the Sox definitely need. He also hit 38 doubles and 14 home runs. Maybe some of those doubles turn into home runs when he leaves a pitchers park for a hitters park. He's an interesting option.

Season ticket sales are going to be horrible. I suspect they try and shake things up with one of their hairbrained ideas. Trade for a Longoria or something like that.

I've seen Todd Frazier's name mentioned as a trade possibility. He's under team control for 2 years so they're not getting him without giving up Quintana and I really do not want them to trade Quintana.

The Cubs and Sox would seem to be perfectly situated trading partners this off season.

They say differently, but I bet Cub management will be looking to move Castro while the market has reinflated for him.

How about Quintana for Baez, McKinney, and another minor leaguer?

The obvious to me would be something involving Schwarber, who I think is a man without a position in the NL and Quintana. I think Quintana is worth more than just Schwarber. It will be interesting to see if the Cubs turn into one of those administrations that fall in love with their prospects and so, never trade.

You cannot accept magic beans for Quintana. He is an established pitcher who is young, cheap, under control forever and keeps getting better every year. If W/L truly means nothing, he is no less than a top 40 starter in the league, probably much better.

I have a total man crush on Schwarber, so my heart would not allow talk of trading him.

What would be a fair trade for Quintana? You didn't know I was a White Sox fan, did you? It's a recent development since my guy Phil Robertson introduced me to Adam LaRoche at the Louisiana Gumbo Festival of Chackbay in Thibodaux.

Quintana for Soler. Straight up.

No way the Cubs could move Schwarber after this post season.
