i have an uncle/ish dude in the family (distant cousins' father and etc) who was like 2-3yrs from a big ol retirement when his company moved from the chicago suburbs to bumblefuck wisconsin, so he went up there to ride it out and get his package/pension/benefits and it happened to align with that 90s packers back to back super bowl appearances run.

he said if the packers won the super bowl there's no way you can expect everyone to work the next day because they're way too hungover and fucked up.... and if they lost the super bowl, well, he learned that in the future that you have to schedule that next day off too because you don't want to be around those people all day long. c'est la vie no?

good call, but personally on my end i was just against standing in the middle of a street intersection like an idiot. i totally understand where ppl wanna get down there to WOO CUBBIES and emote en masse with a bunch of fans (you know, why you go to NFL games) but standing in the middle of a street intersection even if its set up? ehhhh you know i guess if the cops set it up to do that and i was down there anyways i admit i'd have a cigarette or two in the scrum just to say i did it, but i couldnt see standing out there WOOing 1-2hrs later.

The Cubs were 5 outs away from going to the WS in '03. I was at the Bartman game...I was chanting "5 more outs!!!!!" with 40+ thousand other fans...then the air was let out of the balloon. That one hurt like nothing else...in sports fan-land. I won't be getting too worked up over anything until they get to and win a WS.
