Lynn may just be in for this 3rd inning, as he's due up in the bottom of the 3rd.

I doubt it. I'll bet they try using him in extended relief here today. But if they want to still use him in game 4, it would work as bullpen work on a throw day in the bullpen between starts I suppose.

I assume that will be Lynn's only inning and he will still pitch Game 4, which is good for the Cubs.

Hendricks has it going a lot better this inning. Lynn warming up is disturbing, as I want him pitching in game 3 or 4 and getting tattooed then, not in a game the Cubs already have a 5-1 lead.

Isn't Lynn the Game 4 starter? Who the hell are they going to have start in game 4 if he comes in now?

I wonder if they might try Wainwright?

You wonder only because you want to make a "Wainwrong" joke.

That's not too bad, but no. They say he's okay to pitch, yet he's not in the rotation and with the Cubs having good success VS Wacha and Lynn, I thought they might consider swapping Lynn for Wainwright, but with Lynn pulled after an inning, it looks like he will get that start after all. That is good news as far as I am concerned.

Are you back to believing in the Cubs chances now?

It's amazing what a lead can do for a young pitcher.

Hendricks looking good.

When he gets in a groove he has a Maddux like feel to him.

*NOT saying he is even close to as good as Maddux.*

Wainwright would be interesting. Is he ready to go more than a couple innings yet?

That would seem risky

I would think he would be limited. Might have been a good time to use him tonight, as it might have given life to the team and crowd if he pitched well, even for 2-3 innings. I'm okay with him just watching.

Game 4 , probably still Lynn. Lyons/Wainwright piggyback is an option.

Nice to see Holiday down on 1 pitch. Henrdicks has had such a tough time with Carpenter and Holiday. Good chance he gets pulled before the lineup turns over a 3rd time though. That has been Maddon's M.O. with Hendricks.

He's been pretty cromulent for us as a long man. Didn't get used for weeks a time as our rotation has been historically good

He has mine too. No doubt about it. He seems to be riding the nice run he was on coming into this start. When I saw him give up the HR to Carpenter and Holiday just miss another HR in the 1st, I was not real confident he would still be in the game this long, much less sailing along.
