Haren for game 4 clinch right?

if the Cubs were up 2-0 in the series, having Hammel pitch game 3 with a chance to save Arrieta for the first game in the NLCS and guarantee him 2 starts in the WS would make some sense. But with the series tied at 1-1, Arrieta gets the ball in game 3. I trust you know Haren is not on the playoff roster.

Haren not on the roster unless you are like Steve and looking ahead to the Mets/Dodgers.

Mets up 1-0 in the series and winning 2-0 tonight in the 2nd inning. Greinke has surrendered 2 HR's.

I did not.

I'm a casual Cubs observer.

Who pitches Game 4 then?

Glad to help.

Maddon can't have Warren the flamingo on the field on Tuesday, but he will have a Haren in the dugout.

After seeing Cahill tonight i think I might leave him for the 7th or 8th inning.

Yeah, I think he takes over that role, rather than Strop who has struggled against the Cardinals.

I'm not trying to go all ES here, but Cahill really impressed me at various times in the last month. I was mystified as to why he wasn't more successful (and I didn't know his recent backstory), but the dude attacks the zone and has good stuff. He seems to keep hitters defensive.

He could come out and get bombed Tuesday, but he has definitely earned some more time.

Yep! Arrieta should be good for 2 of the next 3 games.

Dude did what he needed to, and the bullpen did a hell of a job. It was nice to see.

I'd like to see the guys hammer out 8-10 runs for Jake on Monday to give the guy a break.

When's the last time he had a laugher? He's due.

In addition to Hendricks' pitching, without his outstanding bunt, the 2nd inning probably doesn't happen.

I won't start another thread, but shoutout to Maddon, too... many, including me, questioned his decision to play Soler and sit Schwarber. That decision turned out okay. :)

If KB doesnt hit well in game #3, I would sit him for game #4, just for an early at bat and then when you make a pitching change, bring him in.

There is some value to benching these guys. They do almost always seem to come back more patient.

Quote:
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Chicago Cubs closer Hector Rondon got stuck in the bullpen bathroom for several minutes after Game 1 of the NL Division Series.

Joe Walsh, St. Louis' director of stadium operations, said the lock malfunctioned after Friday night's game, a 4-0 Cardinals win.

Walsh said city fire department officials had been on standby before personnel got the lock to function.

You wouldn't lose anything at the plate, but you would lose - and I never thought I'd say this - his defense. He has really come up with some big defensive plays.

Maddon made a point of mentioning bryant's defense in post game. I do not see him sitting him. Don't want to read too much into it, but interesting that Baez has not been featured by Maddon in the playoffs.

Noting that I wouldnt expect to sit him for more than 1 AB....but just a thought....not crying for it either.
