I'm laughing because even when they pick on the most innocuous subject to target, they end up having to eat all their bad words.

After Sunday, McGowen is first quarterback in Browns history with three straight 300-yard games. And he broke the team record of 444 yards passing set by Brian Sipe on Oct. 25, 1981, against the Baltimore Colts.

Just another example of B&B making careers about being wrong about things. Oh the Schadenfreude!

All the while Cutler hasn't had a 300 yrd. passing game this year in the Adam Gase offense. This is too good to be true!

Why does one need 300 yards to have a good game?

Because quarterbacks routinely have 300 yards passing in a loss. That's the 2015 NFL. It's a passing league, but that doesn't mean you're winning while doing it.

You're confusing causality with correlation. Besides, we're talking about individual performance.

And you're confusing Josh McCown with anything other than a dumpster fire.

Say what you will, but McCown has eclipsed Kosar on those two feats.

Fouts, only because he's better than Brady. But if McGowan wins the Superbowl this year, then McGowan.

What about the other McGowan? He rolled up 300 yards a few weeks back.

He's six on the NFL list of Yds/G passing with 300 behind Dalton. By comparison, Cutler is 28th with 220 Yds/G.

dude the browns are 2-3 and only got that way by barely beating the 1-4 ravens. if anything you're giving him props as a top fantasy QB cuz like, shit, cleveland aint doing anything.... especially when it would behoove them to see what they got in money manziel otherwise at absolute best you win like 1 playoff game b4 you get smeared by a real team.... that's your upside with mccown.

anybody watch jay cutler last week? i want that guy quarterbacking over mccown without a shadow of a doubt.

yeah but im not calling jay cutler one of the 5 best quarterbacks and asking for people to apologize for naysaying him.

and UH, rick, you DO know that jay was injured near halftime of the cardinals game and out for the seahawks game, and you never know if he was out there when the bears DEF was hanging with seattle if that game turns out differently.

Hypothetical Jay Cutler is one of the top 5 qbs in the league!

You can't be that way BRick. They won, regardless of whether it was last minute or a blowout.

that could be a proper board mult, but yeah sure i cant deny at one point when we got him in here we all hoped he'd be that....

but look man, i'll tell you this.... i still think having watched him for years and seeing what he can do when he has dusty's horses around him and some proper coaching, man, i wont say anything about his upside as top-whatever, but you can do a hell of a lot worse than jay cutler, and i think even you gotta admit that.... unless part of your bit is saying that claussen is just a little less than jay or something equally predictable =D

Here is a link to YTD QBR. Not surprising that Brady & A-Rod are #1 & 2. McGowan is #9, Cutler is #27.

It was me copying and pasting sini's thoughts since the exact same thing is true.

Of course you can do worse than Jay Cutler. He's an average starting quarterback who is paid as an elite quarterback, which in many ways is the worst possible thing for a team.

I mean, you'd hope one of the highest paid players in the whole league is better than many other players.

what? have you watched jimmy clausen this year? does the caleb hanie era ring a bell? how about those headlines in the early early 90s like DOES PT STAND FOR PLAYING TIME? dude i'd rather have an overpaid mediocre quarterback with equal parts flashes of brilliance and WTF than have the chad hutchinson era redux

Cutler deserves praise for what he did in the 4th quarter against the Chiefs, but not for the other three quarters when his offense generated a paltry six points. The bar for QBs in Chicago has been set so low that even mediocre performances are perceived as some special. Imagine McCown passing for three 300 yard games with the Bears. The town wouldn't know what to do.
