younger fans, no matter where you are or who they're a fan of, are going to aggravate the shit out of you. i remember going to a sox game in 2006 and what seemed like a busload of crotch goblins were in line for beer, all of them bitching about stuff and being assholes. it was just young arrogance, not necessarily fan arrogance. but it's hard to tell the difference sometimes.

when you see a table full of 50 year old grey hairs, whipping yellow towels around because their team got a first down in the first quarter of a game, then you know the fanbase is a piece of shit. :) obviously, those are steeler fans. but they've kind of earned the right to be pompous since they have such a rich history.

i see a bar full of bears fans whooping and hollering about winning a preseason game, i'm thinking...yeah, dumbasses. i mean, no different than the whodats who believed the saints would win the super bowl in the 2012 season simply because it was going to be in new orleans, even though we started the season 0-4.

Sports are an escape for many folks and should be fun. Nothing wrong with people doing either or both.
Go crazy folks, go crazy!

People watching was almost as entertaining as the game....ok not really...
That place was rocking after Baez HR and Schwarber HR, especially. I think I stood in the stadium for 2 hours after the game.

Sat directly behind Craig Sager and his family. He Looks awful. Said he just got out of the hospital last Thursday.......felt bad because he had two young kids with him.
Couple of Braves VP's sat in row behind me, they were good to talk to. Everybody that walked by they would point out who they were (executive MLB-types that I had no idea who they were).
I told Manfred to let Rose back in. He didn't listen.

AND THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE WHOLE NIGHT - after the game, I'm standing behind the Cubs dugout taking it all in, and Rozner comes walking past me....I say something like "Barry! Go Cubs!"....... and he looks up at me, laughs, and slaps me directly on the ass.
I may never wash my left cheek again.......

Fortunately, in the NLCS they can now get the rotation set up the way they would really want it. Arrieta, then Lester, then pray for rain....But knowing they will get 2 starts from both in the NLCS and have done so well in games those 2 did not pitch (winning both of them) bodes well. Kinda hate having 3 days off with the hitters hitting so well right now. I know some of the guys probably can use some rest. Russell's hamstring can surely use the time to heal up and again, it allows the Cubs to set up their rotation. but I hope the bats stay hot.

When the Cub win in the post-season, all inhibitions go by the wayside.

I much prefer my Cubs fans that way, as opposed to the ones who after winning a single playoff series now think their team is Yankee level.

Yankee's are out of the playoffs. We are far superior to those guys. :alien:

I would suspect that MLB's gonna be the only place one could find something like that ... KMOX is the station but, like all others, they don't stream the games on their website.

Thanks. I know Spiegal & Goff played some sound the other day. I thought it might make for a good listen today.

I think I saw that KMOX is part of the CBS mother nipple, so I'm sure that has helped them with access to those clips.

Anyone see Hammels reaction when Maddon pulled him? I guess they didn't show it but he was just shaking his head as he walked off the mound like he couldn't believe he was getting the hook according to Slappy.

he made a snarky sounding comment during his post game on-field interview about being pulled for '1 bad pitch '
sounded kinda douchey given the circumstances

It's pretty obvious Maddon doesn't like / trust him and vice versa. Gotta figure he's not long for this team after the year

Hammel has no self-awareness of his suckiness. It's impossible to deal with those types of people. Can't wait til he is gone.

maybe celebrate advancing to the NLCS with your team rather than be all salty about getting pulled from the game when everyone knows you suck ?

When the manager comes to take your bum ass out the game you nod your head and say "sorry for being a bum, skipper" and walk off the mound while looking down at ground in shame.

Jake Arrieta gets to shake his head at the manager. Not Jason Hammel.

They just played a clip now. I took your advice and found/heard the same clip on MLB.com too. Wasn't all that great or entertaining.

I get what you guys are saying, just sounded really funny to me to say he needed self awareness of his suckiness. Sorry carry on
