Yeah..Cueto settled in nicely.. Bad Prediction. I don't think either team can hang with the Jays.

The Jays were almost beaten by Texas. Either the Astros or the Royals can hang with them.

I love it.

And if you're the Rangers, get the guy out and you won't have to deal with any bat flips.

With what the Blue Jays had to go through, I'd let Bautista ride his bat around the bases like a hobby horse if he wanted.

Bat flips and bat burials (whatever it seems Schwarber is trying to do) are awesome. It's no wonder why baseball is stagnant when you have a subset of fans who think breaking a guy's leg on a slide is something to be praised but if a guy flips his bat on a go ahead homer in an elimination game in the playoffs he deserves to have something thrown at his head all next season.

I am just amazed at how pitchers act like loons all of the time when they strike somebody out or stare in at them also, but a batter does a bat flip or admires his work and everybody is all kinds of fired up. Bat Flip away boys, that was awesome.

What do you mean? Do you think that was the wrong call with Odor scoring? Sutcliffe thought so. His take was that it opens up a can of worms. Considering you never see such a thing, I really doubt that to be the case. I don't think we're going to see a rash of hitters waving their bats in front of the catcher trying to make contact with the throw back to the mound when a man is on third. I think Gibbons thought Choo should be out for interference. If that were the case, you might see a lot of catchers trying to hit the batter with their throws back to the mound. They got the call right.

I didn't think so at first, but after seeing the rule they most definitely got the call right. Martin was lazy throwing the ball back to the pitcher and it cost them a run.

I thought it's an out if this is done intentionally anyway?

That leaves a lot up to the discretion of the umpire. Obviously, in this case it didn't appear to be intentional on Choo's part. Martin just wasn't paying attention. But I was listening to the radio broadcast and they read the rule. It didn't say anything about intent, just that the batter could not hinder the catcher's throw.

All ABOAAAARRRD!!! the Blue Jay bandwagon.

David Price eventually has to win a postseason game...right? And even though Beuhrle isn't on the postseason roster, he can get another ring.

The way Price has pitched, they might want to think about putting Buehrle on the roster.

So you're saying the misery of a Cub elimination would be lessened by losing to a whole other country?

It'd still suck. But can't get too mad at a team with this guy's trot:

Be that as it may, once the plate ump called the play dead, that changed the way everyone on the Blue Jays acted. You shouldn't be able to go back and say play was still live after all after calling it dead.
