The first episode was interesting if only because it posed so many questions going forward. Its enough to get me to come back for episode two but after last season I can't commit to anything more than that. If it starts to go off the rails I'm finished with this.

I think for me personally, this series suffers from coming so soon after the awful season 2 of True Detective. I stuck that out and was pissed at the end. That memory is still fresh in my mind and that combined with the fact that I willingly did not finish season 4 of AHS has caused me to have a real short leash with them.

I've seen every episode since the very first.
I was disappointed by this one.
It seems like they've decided to replace intrigue and tension with graphic gore and violence.
I'll give it another week to see where it goes.

I agree...watched the first episode last night.
it wasn't horrible, but it felt it was gory and violent for the sake of being gory and violent at the expense of plot and character buildup.

Disappointed.

i watched episode 2 last night, and was disappointed already. as much as i am trying to keep an open mind about the direction of this series, whatever expectations i had after episode 1 are already starting to erode. the style of the show is very good, it is shot beautifully and it is very slick looking and the music is really cool, but as hard as it is to believe with all the violence and sexual situations i found myself already getting bored last night. I'm in it for the long haul, there is enough going on that i am curious where the story goes, but this season seems to be missing all the subtleties that made the first couple seasons so enjoyable for me.

one additional thing - i think lady gaga has been VERY good, her scenes are the high points of the series for me so far. i think trying to find out her backstory is one of the things that will keep me interested in the show.

The future Mrs and her daughter keep watching this....nothing has changed. I like Lady Gaga a lot, but the show is garbage.

this season has been very good in my opinion, i really like the link-up back to season 1. lady gaga has been excellent. liz taylor is a great character as well. the cop character is a little tiring, every scene he is in he is so overwrought with fear and anxiety. stop hanging out at the hotel if you don't like the blood running down the walls and the never-ending parade of ghosts and ghouls hanging out around.
