What do you mean? Do you think that was the wrong call with Odor scoring? Sutcliffe thought so. His take was that it opens up a can of worms. Considering you never see such a thing, I really doubt that to be the case. I don't think we're going to see a rash of hitters waving their bats in front of the catcher trying to make contact with the throw back to the mound when a man is on third. I think Gibbons thought Choo should be out for interference. If that were the case, you might see a lot of catchers trying to hit the batter with their throws back to the mound. They got the call right.

Be that as it may, once the plate ump called the play dead, that changed the way everyone on the Blue Jays acted. You shouldn't be able to go back and say play was still live after all after calling it dead.

That's true, but every player should know by now, with replay, you just have to keep playing. It's like a play I saw last year where Adam Eaton dove for a ball in short center with a man on first. The field ump called it a catch. Upon review it was ruled a trap and the runners were safe at first and second. Never mind that had the umpire not called it a catch, Eaton could have easily forced the runner at second, which is what he should have done to be safe.

Anyway, I don't subscribe to this modern cult of attempting to get every call right at any cost. It's an imperfect game, a reflection of our imperfect world. Allowing it to be imperfect beats watching a bunch of goofs standing around ruminating for half an hour and often getting it wrong anyway.

All ABOAAAARRRD!!! the Blue Jay bandwagon.

David Price eventually has to win a postseason game...right? And even though Beuhrle isn't on the postseason roster, he can get another ring.

The way Price has pitched, they might want to think about putting Buehrle on the roster.

Buehrle would have been the perfect guy to bring in to pitch in game four, when they pulled Dickey.

Heh, pulled Dickey.

Sam Dyson should STFU and pitch better if he doesn’t like to see bat flips.
I don’t like excessive celebrations / showboating either but it’s in the game and not going anywhere. Batters and pitchers both.

That HR was clutch.

Yeah, plus I thought the TBS games were almost unwatchable with their miscalibrated pitchtrax. I'd rather go without.

There was less than a 0% chance any Jay could have made a play on Odor no matter what the umpire did.

Bat flip are something else that's okay as long as it's white people doing it.

Man alive, he stared down the homer and flipped his bat The Right Way. Take a lesson, all other batters. That's how it's done with Class.

The bat flip of a man with 2 career regular season homers. Just think if he got to practice them more in game situations.

DeGrom not looking nearly as sharp as he did the last time out. The error didn't help but they better get the bullpen going before this game gets out of hand.

I can't believe that sawed off runt hit a home run with that swing. The catcher should have stepped on him when he got to home plate.

55 of Degrom's 107 pitches were with men in scoring position. Wow. He battled his ass off tonight.

terry collins not fucking around here..... degrom hit ~105 pitches to get through the 6th, and now in the top of the 7th syndergaard was up in the pwn, and with the inning extending to the pitcher's spot (runner on 1st 2 out) they're pinch hitting for degrom and i think syndergaard is coming in.

i dont think he has any regular season experience out of the pen, but in spring training early on collins was doing harvey for 2-3 innings and then syndergaard for 2-3 innings in the same game.... opposing hitters were quoted as saying "what the fuck? we had no chance... that's crazy out there"

so yah idk if a fully rested syndergaard coming in for relief messes up hsi availability too much (cuz if he wasnt used you'd assume he starts game 1 of the NLCS) or hell.... idk if he sucks in relief now and the dodgers take this.... but if it's the mets i think it's a harder matchup for the cubs, but hey listening to the radio all day i hear THESE CUBS ARE TOO YOUNG AND DUMB TO CARE! THEY DONT KNOW! CHICAGO DOESNT FEEL WORRIED THEY FEEL READY plus hey, when i was all BEWARE THE METS GOING FORWARD in april/may i had ppl like RPB talking me down, then i got lol'd at when the cubs got 3-4 off of degrom and syndergaard, so why worry? the cubs got this. let's pick out our world series opponents with elmherst steeve.

man collins getting greedy.... limiting syndergaard to 1IP so it's like a work day and he can come back for game 1/2..... familia in for a 6 out save. that's asking a lot, esp in the 9th. and insurance run would be huge.

honestly, i could see the mets setup with harvey game 1, matz game 2 (use him up in the arrieta game) then after the cubs shoot their lester/arrieta wad you go BLAM BLAM with degrom/syndergaard when the cubs aren't coming back with lester or arrieta, but the only thing is then you'd have a hard time spamming degrom/syndergaard for 5/6/7.... so i guess collins wanted to give a fully-rested-syndergaard a work day to turn him around in game 1/2 so he can have 2 starts.... degrom will likely be on track for game 3/4 and that's prolly 2 starts in the NLCS.....

man the cubs are gonna have their work cut out for them. arrieta is pitching at arguably the highst level in baseball right now, but overall degrom/syndrgaard/harvey/matz > arrieta/lester/hendricks/go-fish.

gonna be a hell of a series if the mets can make it there. lets hope collins didnt screw the pooch and get greedy cuz im leaving syndrgaard in for 1 more inning if i'm him.

This game is working out perfectly for the Cubs. The pitchers, the travel....

Hang on, Mets.

man 3 more outs to go then i'm gonna guess NLCS = harvey games 1/5, syndergaard games 2/6, degrom games 3/7, and then matz game 4?

yeah that's the best (playoff) rotation in baseball, IMO. cubs would have to earn that.

what? dude it'd be way better for the cubs to face the dodgers.... yeah it's kershaw and greinke, but then it's *farting/sharting noise*

not to mention the dodgers are kinda dispassionate cuz they're supposed to be here every year and ho-hum. this is the mets' year like it's the cubs' year.... they have more team of destiny crap.

and did you miss the part where im thinking harvey/syndergaard/degrom each start 2 games and matz starts one? that's pretty fucking tough man. the mets rotation is better than the cubs.... and i know arrieta is god mode lately, but dont forget that if tonight holds degrom will have gone out and beaten both kershaw and greinke in LA.

i honestly think you wanted the dodgers here, esp with the dodgers short-resting kershaw for game 6 and then greinke in game 7.

Doc and Gay both say Mets. That is good enough for me.

Both teams have scary parts and will be a tough series either way.
