with today's huge announcement that spada took his business to ESPN1000 in the wake of the continued WSCR employment of dan bernstein, i know there's nobody listening (hence why i had to make a showthread at 3pm today!) but hey i just wanted to make a thread for you lost souls distinctly without fridge magnet schedules and/or bearly legal shirts/hats.... you might need a place to talk about the favorite show of the board before today's big news that history will remember as the beginning of the end of boers and bernstein.

cubs asslicking! talk about the bull? hey the bears coaches are cool! college football exists. ABSOLUTE CRACKLING GAME YESTERDAY.... ONE THAT WILL BE REMEMBERED FOREVER! #PrisonersOfTheMoment, right @RealSkipBayless, eh?

hey biggie, it's not about 5-6 months off... it's about one day at a time, and how will you make it through TODAY without bernstein? dont even worry about the future, just worry about today.

you know, i wonder if i could get a church somewhere to let me host a branch of AA meetings specifically for ex-bernstein-listeners. no doubt bill wilson had us in mind when he thought how he could apply his AA pantheism to more than drunks, so maybe we could have a Bernsteinholics Anonymous meeting sometime?

Can't wait for his mock outrage over Philly fans chanting "She said no". Maybe he will do a segment with Score Rape Expert Julie DiCaro

"Every 107 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted; one in six women in America has been a victim of either attempted or completed rape in her lifetime; one in 33 men have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime.

That translates to approximately 2000 rape survivors in attendance at every Chicago Blackhawks game." (Via Jen LC @RegressedPDO)

Could this possibly be true?

so wait, if there's slightly more women than men in the world (and likely USA) and 1/6 women is at least partially raped but only 1/33 men is partially/raping, does that mean that the average rapist has like 5+ rapes to their name or is there en epidemic of woman-on-woman attempted/rapes that we need to shine a light on here?

if that is indeed the case, going to a WNBA game might be the least safe place a woman could go.

If you really dislike listening to him, you would not listen.

Its just that simple.

I dont like him, I dont listen to him.

I really dont like the thought he will be trying really hard to become involved in the Cubs aspect of things, but we will wait and see how that pans out.

I read it as 1/33 men being sexually assaulted. Maybe we could post a poll.

Correct.

I think the presumption about 2000 women at the Hawks game is fun with statistics. I would guess that at any given game there is nowhere near that number.

oh i guess i misread an "an" --- sorry about that.

who are these 1/33 men getting raped tho? obviously it's not any sort of a problem with a "rape culture" or anything since our society loves to laugh at stuff like "hey if you go to jail you're going to be some guy's bitch!" and that's a "one true outcome" scenario cuz for the longest time it's been quite alright to joke that if a guy goes to jail he gets raped..... "that's just the way it is" like that hook on that one tupac song ("changes" methinks)

....of course, make any sort of a joke about rape in any other denomination than "HEY WHITEY YOU DONE FUCKED UP SO YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL TO GET RAPED!" and you'll find out why comedians have a hard time doing shows on college campuses nowadays, eh?

You throw a Joe Ostrowski into the mix and not only do you have stew going, but a full fledged A-Team is in the house.

Adam Harris was a Hoffman kid, I believe, because FavreFan was always defending him, saying that he's actually not completely awful at everything.

You hear Larry in tranny?

Another example of him giving an opinion to Dan that was word for word what Dan had said earlier in the show.

That he's cool with bat flipping and it's just the old white players that hate it.

Pathetic. The only show that stands on its own is M & H. Everything else is Bern-stained.

There was a time when the Score lineup was North, M&H, Murph, B&B, and then Doug/Hub or Larry or DePaul/NIU/Hawks. Weekends were Baum and Olken, Paruch, Jesse, and various play-by-play. It was when Bernstein was his best because the whole fucking station wasn't trying to be like him.

That's a good summary of him, IMO. Yeah, he went to Hoffman.

Remember Jesse's Sunday Morning Breakfast Grill (or whatever he called it)? He would ask a callers what they wanted for breakfast and if they said bacon or sausage, he'd play a sizzling sound like he was fryin' up their breakfast for 'em.

Someone faxed his show one morning, just as it was starting, using the name Lillian Hellman and told him that he sucked. He got all bent out of shape and started ranting and raving "The show has barely even started, Lillian, and you're saying it sucks? That I suck? Why don't you give it a fair chance before saying it sucks?"

I always wondered if it was Bernstein screwing with him.

I'll never forget taking a communications course at NIU (Jesse's school) and the professor had taught Jesse and Terry Boers. When I asked him about them, he couldn't remember seeing Terry in a class and said Jesse was the most earnest and the dumbest student he ever taught. Well, he said that after three minutes of platitudes for Jesse, but ended by saying that of all the students in broadcasting he had prepared, he "didn't see Jesse coming".

Jesse owes Mike North his life.
