New York is great.

Imagine the donations list at a NYC temple. They probably shame anyone who gives less than $50k.

Terry wanted the Dodgers. Not sure I agree with him.

I absolutely love visiting NYC. I wouldn't want to live there, but it is a fantastic place.

Oh lets have a weekly hit with David Ross who mere minutes before the call wished he wasn't on the team.

stop...listening? sounds like a good idea. :thumleft:

I'll just guess that we should not be so tribal and instead quietly reflect on the greatness of NYC.

Not saying I want to listen to Kap talk about the difference in the cities' pizza either, but there has to be a middle ground of not-dipshittery.

Did Kap really put that out there?

Well, he did on Twitter. Maybe that doesn't program the show like Spiegel and Goff, but he did mention in his show preview that 'NY Trash Talk' was a part of it.

Maybe Bernstein had rabbit ears and thus his 'counterargument' (arguing is stupid, as is fandom, and thus you)

"Everything is better in New York" has been a longtime Bernstein staple. I remember when Susannah Collins first came to Chicago and did a guest spot on the show. Leery was trying to flirt with her while Dan cockblocked him and kept asking her stuff like what her favorite place to buy fish in Brooklyn was.

How bad is your game if you can be cockblocked by a guy asking where he can buy good fish?

New York pizza is horrendous. It's not even a matter of opinion. It is objectively horrible.

I'm not a big fan of deep dish, either. Give me Chicago thin crust.

I think I'm qualified to sit opposite Kap.

Nailed it. I'm sure there's good New York pizza out there, but everything I've had has been a wet flaccid triangle.

If it's out there, I haven't tried it. The only East Coast pizza I enjoy is southern Connecticut brick oven pizza. But I still don't enjoy that as much as Chicago thin crust.

It's not so much pizza, but Italian stuff in a soft taco shell. And you look like a jackass when you eat it.

Bernstein made such a big deal of Jon Stewart's marginally funny take on Chicago v. NY style pizza, and then ripped on callers who were pissed at Stewart. Bernsie was right--Jon Stewart, he make joke--but he used it to make the callers feel guilty for being provincial.

Dan's in-laws are native New Yorkers who I believe moved to Chicago to be close to their daughter and grandchildren. You think Dan is gonna let a bunch of callers talk shit about New York after a move like that? I mean, that's literally a guilt trip!

I remember that. Leery was so giddy and proud to be introducing Susannah to Score listeners that his blatant gushing was quashed constantly by Captain FunSucker during the entire interview segment.

Bernstein wins again.

An old guy called in yesterday to talk about the '69 Cubs and Dan started screaming and told the guy baseball would be better when the guy was gone (dead). The exchange made me a little sick.

I heard that too. It definitely crossed the line. Instead of saying, "I don't think what happened in 1969 has anything to do with this series, but thanks for the call", he tells the guy that he can't wait until he's dead.

dan is a human turd. Is there any doubt the world will be a better place when he's dead?

There is not.

Nothing he says ceases to amaze, but the even weirder part of this one was that the old boy just laughed and told Dan he didn't really mean that. Dan SCREAMED back that he did and couldn't wait until the guy was dead. The guy then tried talking directly to Terry, but of course Dan wouldn't allow that and they basically hung up on him.

In times like that, it would really behoove Terry to have a backbone and just talk to the guy.
