I can't tell you how many times that, while working with sheet metal, I have sliced a finger open, wrapped it in duct tape, and went right back to working. Half of my shirt has been covered in blood. Nobody put my shirt in the Sheet Metal HOF. I have scars all over my hands and fingers.

loved the story at the time, and i liked schilling as a pitcher. but years after his retirement, he is just a total windsock (no pun intended). and he probably did augment that sock to make it look bloodier than it was or just relished it. he strikes me as the type that makes routine work sound like he's moving heaven and earth. like "man, just got done taking the garbage out; you ever lug one of those plastic dumpsters down to the end of the driveway? i felt good telling the help i can handle it. but i probably threw my back out. doesn't mean i won't try chopping wood later though."
