I wanted the Dodgers because I watched them a lot this year on TV due to Vin Scully, and their #3/4 starters are worse than the Cubs' #3/4 starters.

We got the Mets. I hate the Mets. I listen to Mets' home games on XM to root against them (although I like Howie Rose and Josh Lewin).

Grote is doing an extended pre-game and being the goof he normally is. If Ron Santo were alive, this game tonight would kill him. But if the Cubs were to win in 6 or 7, he'd have taken a crap on the broadcast booth floor to celebrate.

If they win tonight, Cubs in 5. If they lose tonight, it's going to go 7.

For me, this series is for my dad's employee Marshall. Marshall was an African American Bleacher Bum in the 60s/70s, he would go to all the day games for 6-7 innings before coming to work downtown at 5pm. Spending time with Marshall in the summertime, he was one of my biggest Cubs influences. He passed away from cancer in 1978, never even saw a fucking division winner.

Baez with a gem.

I was afraid Lester was going to get a glove on that one. That would've been interesting to say the least.

With Ross and Lester coming up after Baez, this was an inning you looked to get the offense going?? Okay....

Doesn't Baez know he is going to get nothing to hit with Ross and Lester behind him?

Poor Ross.

Even when he makes solid contact, he can't win.

Is Harvey that good tonight or are we just cold & tight?

They have Montero on the bench even though he is one of the guys who has hit Harvey the best, because Lester needs his security blanket.

Maybe my crummy old TV is bad, but isn't it 1-0 in the 3rd? I think the Cubs might still have a chance, lads.

Well, the temperature didn't jump 25 degrees when Lester served up that meatball to Murphy. Say it like ya mean it.
