From where he was positioned, he could have been five feet up the line and still given him the plate. I've seen numerous plays this year that would have been reversed last year as a result of that stupid rule. I'm not sure anyone knows what they can really do. The rule wasn't nearly as ridiculous as last year. In any event, Montero was not in a good position on the play.

You could make a serious argument that the home plate umpire cost us this game.

Cubs could easily lose tomorrow since Arrieta isn't as dominant in cold weather.

The TBS pitch tracker sure is exposing just now fucking bad an inconsistent the home plate umpires are at calling balls and strikes. I hope MLB is keeping track of each umpires accuracy. Replace these assholes with technology.
