didn't the cardinals do that to kershaw around the 5th-6th inning of a game in last year's playoffs?

Yes. But the Cardinal are not hitting and Kershaw is not pitching.

Yes. But the Cardinal are not hitting and Kershaw is not pitching.

And that's also thinking the Mets are done scoring. They're not.

Yes. Let's get four first.

I'm pretty sure none of us are arguing that it's impossible the Cubs come back. But it's pretty fuckin' unlikely, given the events of the night thus far.

It might be an Old-School way of looking at things, and maybe it doesn't matter in the end, but.....

I think it's important for the Cub to not get shutout here tonight in dominant fashion. I gotta believe that would play hell with one's psyche unless of course you're Manny Ramirez.

Not ready to give up but down 0-2 they need to come back with a vengeance in Chicago to get some momentum back.

Things can turn...

Nice of Starlin to stop running to first base there.

I couldn't see the ball on the replay, but the wrong ump made that call on Castro's groundout.

It's the HP ump's call.

You see them scoring 5 tonight genius? They look like their in Camp 4 on Everest . Mets are kicking their ass in every facet. Take your fucking blinders off and face reality.

So this team that has mashed for the second half of the season is going to wilt like a flower?

Yes. the Cubs are playing poorly, that doesn't mean the series is over.

They have been on a roll. A young team can take something out of a loss (if this is a loss) and roll out 4 out of 5.

That was a good lesson about throwing across your body. I wouldn't be surprised if Arrieta's shoulder was barking a little.

Cubs get anything going, pull Arrieta for a pinch hitter. He has the top of the order due up for the Mets in the 5th. No point sending him back out to give up more runs.

Bottom line is you can't have your number 1 and 2 starters giving up 4 earned runs in 6 innings. Gotta match what the oponnent is doing at the very least.

Very true. But it would also be nice if our hitters could actually, you know, hit...

in fairness it was 4ER in 6+ for lester, and he was left in an inning too long IMO. both managers were guilty of that last night.

Can they just turn off the PitchTrax?

Or at least have the announcers comment on it. It's ridiculous.

Not only have they given up runs... they've been early runs, and playing from behind has wound these youngsters tight. They're playing tense. Cubs have bo shot if Lester and Arrieta are being thoroughly outpitched.
