heard this on radio
I'm assuming I remembered it correctly
if it isn't 100% correct my apologies and I will try and do better next time

pitch was 12.76 inches off the ground

14318 other pitches similar height
74 percent swing and miss
16 percent went foul

1457 pitches ended up as balls in play

73 percent were ground balls

I hope you are not making a case that it was lucky, because he crushed a similar one two pitches earlier.

Not a hittable pitch. The guy is clearly on something. He'll test positive in the offseason.

Happens in the playoffs. Guys that are ordinary have extraordinary runs. Blauser had one with Atlanta, then the Cubs signed him and he went back to being ordinary. The same will likely happen with Murphy.

It also happens in the Spring training and the regular season.

Maybe he's just on a tear? Who knows ... I know I'd be juiced in every contract year but I'm thinkin most of the newest enhancing drugs are undectable or unknown to testers.

It's interesting they have all those stats, but they never actually state how many of the 1,457 low balls put into play were hit for home runs. (They identify how many fly balls, but not homers.)
