Id say when I was 21-26 (2001-2006)

I thought of this as I saw the Iowa Northwestern game on saturday and thought. "why in the hell would I ever want to watch this?"

But in those prime years, Id be interested in any Big 10 game, Id know at least the marquee players on every team and the top 25 (football and basketball). I knew which coaches were hot NFL prospects for god's sake

Also when I was like 12-14 I probably knew every player in all three major sports. But there wasnt as much info available then and I hadnt become a big football fan.

Now I try to keep up with Notre Dame. I probably watch 3 non ND games per year. And I watch almost no college hoops. NBA only the playoffs for this guy for the most part.

My NFL fandom is probably middling. I watch the Bears and maybe a few games here and there. I used to go to bars to see the games every sunday.

Ive focused more on baseball in my older years.

I don't think I've ever followed any sport more thoroughly than I followed basketball from the late 70s to the mid 80s. Not even horse racing.

The Bulls title years through the end of the Brees/Orton era at Purdue was my peak. I guess it should extend to 2005 too since you know: 2005.

All I need is a Bears Super Bowl title and I'm good forever.

Yea, that's a good point. I remember watching Orton fumble and thinking he fell out of the top 5 Heisman race on that play

Mid to late 20's for me. I think the saturation with sports has led me to watch it less. I'm a huge NBA guy. Not as much college. I can't watch more than 2 quarters of any football game. Can't watch college football at all. Used to be a huge Sox fan. I would research the farm system and all. Would check for guys in A ball and try and follow them hopefully up to the majors. I still follow the Sox but this is probably the only year that I cant remember watching the team. I followed them through the "Hawk wants you" campaign as an adolescent. The Fregosi yrs and all. This is tough watching them now though. They can't seem to get their position players right. They do well on pitchers and have for awhile, but they can't develop position players at all.

I'm an NBA junkie though. I will watch regular season or playoffs and its not exclusively the Bulls. I began to dislike the other sports when I realized the local radio stations rarely if ever covered basketball. It made me dislike football. Shouldn't be that way but it is I guess.

There is really nothing else on TV that I watch other than sports, I DVR 1 show, Deadliest Catch.

Jerk.

I know the Bears will get a Super Bowl victory again.

The only thing that really gets me excited is a Purdue basketball title. Football won't ever happen. Basketball probably won't either but I would guess that would shoot up to #1 if it did in either sport.

This too.

I feel like I don't have enough time to watch all of the sports I want, much less have time for anything else or movies.

I'm pretty sure my Bears fandom is as strong as ever. I take Bears losses hard. I became even more of a fan after 2009 because I played Madden 10 all day every day during that season, and I learned a lot about plays and formations. In fact, any time a team runs a play where the RB slants from the backfield to the middle of the field for a catch, I always smile because it was one of my favorite plays in the game.

There was a time when I could've told you the starting roster for just about every major college basketball team in the country and knew the top 5-6 players in all the minor conferences as well. I also could've told you about just about every high school prospect ranked in the top 100 nationally. Would eagerly await my weekly subscription to Basketball News. This was late 80s, early 90s.

I also could've told you where every NBA player went to school.

Nowadays I couldn't even name 5 players in the entire NCAA.

2003. Nothing has been the same sports wiise since then. Though I don't think theydve beaten the Yankees, I can't get over the 5 outs thing.

21 to 40....but all during that time its your team that peaks your interest, but awfully tough for a Chicagoan to talk about it.

If you lived the 85 Bears season, that was about as cool as a team could be on every level. The D, the QB, The OL, The Coach, The Barking....complete domination and they shoved it in your face...doing the Super Bowl Shuffle. Then get to live 6 rings with MJ. Come on...trying to top that is impossible.

After that 3 Hawks Cups, were really cool and people didnt even like Hockey...but still not matching up to 85 Bear and Jordan.

Cubs would just cap it off for me....
