Maybe he means fans blaming the cold.

That would be a break from blaming the umpires.

He was talking about the players. He said it doesn't matter if you're from Cuba, Puerto Rico or Venezuela. Playoff baseball is cold. Shut up and play.

I don't blame them. But they have been consistently terrible. Saw the 1st base umpire make a fair call on a ball rolling toward 1st in the last game. Not to mention the obvious balls and strikes calls.

The Cubs sound like they could use a multi-use indoor facility in Couer d'Alene, Idaho.

Both teams playing in the same weather and with the same umpires. I blame the Cubs' hitters.

Bernstein: What are you doing day drinking on a Monday?
Boers: What day is it
Bernstein: Present company excluded.

All at a remote at a bar, during the day, on a Tuesday.

"We"?!?

I know he claims to be able to turn around a 90 mph heater, but I don't recall ever hearing "him" penciled into any lineup. I just love that it's now "we". Despite all his smart assed cracks when callers mention "we", yet now this. Funny.

Until his kid actually plays a game  in late March/early April or October, I doubt he's actually seen a ball game from outdoors when the temp is below 50-55 degrees. I don't hate listen anymore, but I must admit to hate-reading these threads.

The Great Maddon needs to man up a bit himself. I don't give a damn if he's got sniffles, a cold or the flu, looking at your leader bundled/swaddled up in a thousand layers like a bitch isn't exactly an encouraging look. He needs to take a shot or two and look like something other than a bum in Cubbie attire on lower Wacker in January.

I'll never understand why some fans get so bent out of shape if a player is trying to stay warm.
I WANT THEM TO BE WARM....playing baseball in that weather sucks so why not try to be warmer and hopefully reduce the suck.

I always hated the "Bears weather" players who went out there sleeveless and then played like they couldn't feel their arms.

Anyone complaining about how a coach is dressed.........ugh why bother.

Settle down Reader.

He's 61 years old.

I think his age gets him a little slack when it comes to staying warm.

I have not seen a single Cubbie playoff loss that hasn't been followed with complaints about the umpiring. Four times over two series with completely different sets of umpires.

Theo's supercomputer uses a very aggressive global warming simulation to help build the team.

Its been a little over the top.

I chalk it up to many people watching intently for the first time who are usual casual fans. They dont see that these questionable calls happen in every game all year.

And to be fair to them, a missed strike call in June just doesnt get the blood boiling like the NLCS
