No, but the umpiring was shitty, especially in the first inning, and it absolutely hurt the Cubs. Bitching about umps is what emotional fans do. Or maybe it's just Cub fans. It must just be Cubs fans.

Why is Rondon going Sean Rodriguez on a drinking fountain in the dugout?

I'd go with poor hitting, fielding and pitching. But I guess the umps should shoulder some of the blame.

Edit: what MM said.

This is exactly how the Cubs will win the World Series...in improbable fashion.

I'm more excited now than ever!

Well, it's not the end of the world, but yes it still hurts. Your 12 year old self wants to believe the Cub will make the comeback of all comebacks, but reality is telling you "no way."

Hats off to the Mets pitching so far, they've limited their mistakes to solo shots and have shut down Rizzo & Bryant. And not so much in the first two games, but our shaky team defense finally caught up with us tonight. Gotta be able to throw and catch the ball if you expect to succeed long term.

Yeah, I don't see any Cub fan here or anywhere saying the Cubs played well in any facet of the game or deserved to win. That doesn't preclude bitching about the umpires. It's a pretty common straw man, though.

I really didnt think that this Cubs team was capable of a meltcown game. Awful in all phases of the game, and the young stars were terrible. Very disapointing.

Maybe next year The Plan will include having some fucking pitching other than a washed-up Red Sock and a junkballer off the scrap heap.
