Looks like Babe. He's been my guy all along. He'll be another great #12.

Don't start that again. It's a bit early to be putting him into the HOF just yet. But he is certainly making an impression. Have to love how all these young players are not crumbling under the pressure, but rising to the moment. Call it young and stupid if you want. Or maybe Maddon just knows how to handle this group that well. But it's impressive seeing so many young players not only not folding in these big games, but producing in key situations.

You can have Javier and I'll take Babe.

I think Scwarber will have the better career as a hitter, but Baez may well be the better player. His defense, ability to steal some bases as well as hit may be greater than what Schwarber may accomplish as a player, which I suspect will center chiefly on his hitting. He's okay as an outfielder. Better than Carlos Lee or Adam Dunn and many others that have played the outfield, but certainly not likely to win a gold glove. As a Catcher, he's currently a liability. Time will tell, how much improvement he is capable of at the position.

Any real Cubs fan could see that Schwarber was a lock for the HOF after the series vs the Reds.

It was suggested by a Cub fan on this board already this morning

I was thinking the opposite after last night. It's clear he has no position.

But they won't. I'm good with that. He's a butcher but he's fun to watch and gives the team intensity.

Screamy & Unfunny were discussing the possibility of trading him this a.m. They seemed to be on board with it.

I think the plan was always to trade Schwarber. That is why they kept up the pipe dream of him being a catcher since even that thought really pumped up his trade value.

It would be a major chance by Theo to do it now considering they literally put a home run he hit in plexiglass like it was a 1,000 year old artifact.

I can't listen to sports radio.

I didn't even want to come here but that's why bigfan pays me and I'm nothing if not professional.

Can they stick Vogelbach in LF also? How many guys are allowed to play LF at once?

Schwarber is one of the only guys that showed up in the postseason. Not only do I think he's better than Bryant I believe he's the most dangerous hitter on the team. He'll get better defensively.

To me, it looks like what I would guess Paul Konerko would look like in the outfield.

Not bad but I was looking for Babe Ruth. He's definitely more athletic than Paulie ever was.

It was unthinkable during Score Cubs postgame. It was reiterated by the Score morning show and their esteemed Tribune columnist expert.
