Labor Day. Playing the Cards. I had to quickly run into the store as the game was starting and try to get back home ASAP. I basically ran in at the start of the 1st and ran back out. Couldn't have been more than 5 minutes or so. I came back out and turned the truck on and the Cubs were already winning like eight to nothing in the first. Went home and watched them finish the Cards off easily.

That's when I figured they could be for real.

Watching the Cubs clinch the NLDS at Wrigley Field. The fact they fell behind early and then rallied to overtake the Cards made it even more exciting and enjoyable.

Baez homerun against Lackey in the clincher against the Cards

Schwarber double down the line to score the first run in the WC game

All the walk offs (they had at least 12 during the year)

Rizzo's ninja slide...which ironically happened to Daniel Murphy playing 3B at the time.

I enjoyed the Wildcard game. That was the perfect microcosm of the season to that point.

Schwarber's +defense in LF during the playoffs.

Bryant's red hot, throbbing bat during the playoffs.

Game 2 NLDS. Couldn't believe they stole it and began to think they could beat the walking wounded.

junior lake causing the benches to clear in Miami by doing a "shhhh" sign rounding 3rd on his home run trot. His 2-run dong made it 6-2 in the 6th.

The day wise and honorable Joe stabbed Ricky Renteria in the back and celebrated it with a free shot of whiskey for Jesse Rogers

oh yeah "the kyle schwarber game" in cincinnati where IIRC he tied the game with a 2R HR in the 9th inning and then won it with another HR in the 13th was another bigtime memory for me. hell i think that was a raisel iglesias start so i was extra invested in it, and we were in second-callup/early-career-!!!! for schwarber (who i had just traded lance mccullers straightup to acquire in my league) and when he had those 2 giant HRs to tie/win the game it was like "man, he looks like a big ol doofus but that kid can legit fucking hit.... and i bet you he can handle the pressure better than rizzo/bryant when it's playoffs time"

and of course, i think his mashing in october (especially after being SO COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY SHIT in august/sept) kind of proved me right on that one.

I'll go with rizzo and his circus catch leaping into the stands from the tarp roll along the first base line.

That's a damn good one I forgot about. Terry's Peeps made fun of me for saying how great it was. Made it even better.

Insane year to start off a string of great runs. Suck it up Ligue nation. You'll still be able to hang at racist bars and hope for discount beers during the playoffs.
The rookies all succeeding and of course Arrieta are the most notable.

Bryant living up to expectations but I think his walk off against Colorado was the turning point of this team.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSw9GPz9D0g

Schwarbombs (too many to choose) but the playoff HR's pretty much made him a national name.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E39GL1n9_k4

Russell D (too many to chose) now considered an ELITE SS at the age of 21 (check the stats gramps)
