Saw some blurb come up on twitter about predicting the Cubs rotation for next year. This particular site/publication had:

1. Arrieta
2. Price
3. Lester
4. Zimmerman
5. Hammel

 Come on man. There is no freaking way that is the rotation. No way they add Price and Zimmerman in the offseason.

Let's be realistic here.

I don't want David Price.

Price will be a fine #5 when they sign Grienke too.

 yeah this is the crap that causes guys like JORR to give us so much shit.

If we are breaking the bank i would prefer Grienke.
But I do not expect either. I expect they will add 2 guys who are middle of the rotation guys to go after Arrieta and Lester, then Hammel or Hendricks will be the 5

I think they will do a lot of work in the bullpen.

 yeah maybe so.

Take your tin foil off your head and find the objective dolphin and give me his thoughts on what you really think will be the rotation next year.

3. Lester
4. Jeff Samardzija
5. Kyle Hendricks or Travis Wood

Grienke and Shark? I dont see that either, but if Shark is your #4 then that would be fine with me.

Mat Latos is a cancer. Plus he sucks ass.

There is 0% chance he is on the Cubs next year.

Everytime Bruce Levine is on, it sounds like Samardzija coming back is absolutely going to happen.

1. Arrieta
2. Price
3. Lester
4. Samardzija
5. Hendricks

I'd love signing both Price and Heyward, but I don't know if Ricketts would do that. I'd be happy with 1 of the 2.

Cub fans, if you could have used Samardzija instead of Hammels last night (before knowing the outcome obviously) would you use him?

I would have. But Hammels sucks

I think that is pretty realistic too.

And I would have much rather had Shark on the mound last night over Hammel.

I think it was Doc that said in another thread he thought they would try to use Cahill as a starter next year and I can see that as well.

I'd take a Leake.

Arrieta
Lester
Cueto
Leake
Johnson

Unless Price takes less money to be with the Cubs, he'll go elsewhere.

No matter what you do Lester needs to be your #3. I don't want a guy coming off a career year in a contract season.

Is Johnson going to be ready for next year?

I was thinking he was more of an option in 17.

Surprised no one has mentioned Lackey yet.

I could see him coming with his boy Lester.

Arrieta
Lester
Lackey
Shark
Hammel/Hendricks/Johnson

i prefer a team i can root for.

we already have one shithead in lester. adding insufferable dicks in shark, latos, or lackey would be disastrous.

I don't think Shark is insufferable?

What has he done to show that?

I dont want him as 1 or 2 guy, but as a 3 or 4 he could be valuable.

Lackey maybe a tool, but he is a tool that finds ways to wins games. That works for me.

Like adding Javy Vazquez after 2005.
