Looking forward to seeing it, but one thing stands out. Why is Han's voice over making the Jedi's almost seem like some mythical force that was ended centuries ago? Ba6rely 1 generation has passed since the Jedi were destroyed and the empire took control. Anyone over the age of 60 would have seen them and been alive when they were wiped out.

Something about how Han says "all of it" (at around the 1:15 mark) gives me chills.

Abrahams disqualified himself from any serious consideration by movie goers.

On Oct. 10 he held a fund raiser at his house in CA to raise $750,000 for the Democratic Party. Obama attended.

It's a certainty that the movie is liberal propaganda trash now.

What does Abraham Lincoln have to do with any of this? You are trolling a little too hard

This film deserves a good trolling. Any film where a liberal director is behind it, who raises money for the devil, Obama, is immediately suspect. It's farcical to begin with for have a black guy in a Stoormtrooper outfit. I'm sure it will end with the black guy kissing the white girl. Sorry, not for interracial marriage or relationships, as much as Hollywood is trying to push the notion down our throats with films like, "Lincoln". The notion of it goes against nature. Even the greatest in Muhammad Ali was against it, who, although he could have any woman he wanted, preferred a good black woman as a companion, because he said none other could understand him. Ali was right.

So is Han Solo occupying the role of Obi-Wan in this movie?

Where's Luke Skywalker? Living in seclusion, communing with the Force?

Where does Kylo Ren come from? Is he Skywalker's protege gone bad?

Han may be acting as a mentor of sorts, possibly as a parent but he doesn't have the Force

The absence of Skywalker is interesting, maybe like his father he ends up turning to the Dark Side

Maybe Kylo Ren is a son of a character we are familiar with.

No, Han is not a Jedi.

Luke is in the movie.

We have no idea who Kylo Ren is. Just like we have no idea who Fin, Rey, Poe, or Captain Phasma are.

Agreed, but he has been kept in the shadows in the previews. We just see a robotic hand that we can pretty safely assume is his.

I assumed the lack of Luke out of the trailer was to not overshadow the new characters or for a huge wow factor when he does first appear in the movie. As for the new person with the force I had assumed this was going to be Han and Leah's kid which I thought was the young girl.

Yeah, I didn't mean to suggest that Han is a Jedi.

I just thought it was odd that the trailer places him in the position of affirming the validity of Jedi mythology given that he has always been skeptical about the existence of the force. His statements are especially jarring given that a similar role was filled by Obi-Wan in the first movie.

I assume the Han line is explaining things to the daughter and possible the black stormtrooper sidekick. Then they go on a quest to find Luke.

he's not a stormtrooper. stormtroopers are clones. he was wearing that most likely as a disguise to infiltrate. like luke and han in "hope".

I believe I read a rumor that the clones are gone and the new Stormtroopers are recruits? Which may help explain Captain Phasma being a woman, and possible Solo/Skywalker.

Marvel just ran a 4 book series post Jedi, pre The Force Awakens. We meet the parents Poe Dameron (X-wing pilot) simply linking the Marvel story past to TFA.

We should find out who Fin (stormtrooper) and Rey (girl with the droid BB-8) are in the movie. The Solo/Chewie preview scene may wrap this up nicely. I suspect Rey is a Solo, but I also think Phasma could be. I don't think Kylo Ren is a Skywalker. That seems too easy. Who knows. Maybe he's a creation of the Force (i.e. Anakin/Vader) to keep the overall balance.

This is all assuming that Leia and Han actually got married and had kids which we don't know since the only things that are canon per Disney and Lucas are the Six Movies, Clone Wars cartoon, Rebels cartoon, and Marvel reboot comics.

So basically, the story is all new with these movies.

I had assumed all along that all the clones had died of or were killed way before Return of the Jedi.

Most stuff I cam across has Kylo Ren as some sort of Vader and Empire worshiper like a Sith wannabe. Clearly he has some power to gain the status in the trailer.

Ali has a daughter that's married to a white guy, Pickels Joyce..he's been friends with Ali for 30 years. You sure about that?

Pretty cool. Of course ESB contains the best scene in any of the films. Still get a chill watching this.

Nice. Makes the original trailer look almost amateur:

I think this scene was great...the ability to inflict pain from afar was frightening as a kid!
