They were both wrong on the gun one. I think NYT is wrong about the sleeping by the door. Some of the ones like the helicopter/chopper one they arent even really disagreeing.

My favorite one is keeping soda pop on hand in case a modern man drops by. :lol:

I liked that one too. I think I got the best laugh out of the $5 purchase one.

I didn't laugh at that. It hit too close to home. If that wasn't true, Supercell wouldn't have so much of my money.

Hell yes. My Polish grandfather (Dziadzia) was meticulous about his shoes and showed me the value of the shoehorn and shining them regularly.

The shoehorn he had was from Germany. He was held in a camp during WWII, but I'm not sure how he got this particular shoehorn, meaning whether it was given to him, he bought it, or "borrowed" it. It's inscribed with "Schuhhaus Pabst. Muhlhausen i/Th." When he passed, Busia knew I liked it, so she gave it to me, and I use it every day. Reminds me of him. The thing has got to be at least 60 years old.

It was easy pickins for Rowe as he was set up by that NYT list which must have had more than a touch of irony intended. Regardless, Rowe hit it out of the park with one glaring exception. A man's identity is defined by his family....he is a husband and a father and that's ALL there really is.

I told you why. I am a religious guy. I study my religion. I pray, meditate, think about things. I believe God's intention was that man be a father and a husband. Now there may be some exceptions, maybe not 100% of men were put on earth for that, but most were.

There are some terrific humanitarians out there who go out and save the world or give up their lives for others. That's OK too. God's cool with that.
