The new owner of the Sox getting a brand new stadium near the Loop will be pretty sweet!

I don't see the first one happening ever. Most people living have never seen it up until now.

I believe the Sox lease expires after 2022.

The White Sox won't want to play in a 30 year-old ballpark and taxpayers won't want to subsidize another stadium for a franchise with only 50,000 fans by 2022.

So the question is will the Cubs have won a World Series by 2022 or will the Sox be in Charlotte?

It's a lot harder to win a World Series than sucker crooked southern city governements flush with handouts.

Smart money is to bet on the White Sox relocating.

They'll get a new stadium in Chicago.

Did you feel that way about the Soxes (albeit 86 and 88 is not 107 but ya know...)?

They'll get a new stadium in Chicago.

No. Chicago/Illinois is kind of broke.

The LA Rams and the situation in Los Angeles is very telling for stadiums of all sports across all cities.

It appears the public funding for stadiums is all but done. Most cities and states have stopped. The money is not there putting the owners on the hook for all or most of the stadium funding. With Rams, the owner has simple choice to make...if it's my money, which city offers the best potential ROI. For the Rams, it's a no-brainer on being LA.

Come 2022, the White Sox can threaten to move, but they're greatest potential is staying put in Chicago. They might want to consider improving the product on the field if they're concerned about making money.

Yeah, we're building an arena right now for a terrible college basketball team that no one cares about.

Yeah, we're building an arena right now for a terrible college basketball team that no one cares about.

A new baseball stadium will cost in excess of $600 million.

The White Sox won't chip in a penny. When idiotic governments in Charlotte or Vegas will offer an old IFSA deal I can't see how they wouldn't want to take it.

Wasn't Rosemont going to build the Cubs a stadium for basically nothing?

Yeah, is it OK if Schwarber pop ups hit Flight 453 from LaGuardia?

He is going to be traded to the White Sox, now we got a story.

Yes. Not sure if Rosemont would extend the same offer to a small market team with a small fan base like the White Sox though.

Politically, you can't let the White Sox leave. It just can't happen.

The Sox will chip in some for it but they'll get some things back from the city just like the Cubs are that will make up for it. Comiskeyville!

You try and be the politician that lets the South Side baseball team leave and see how it works out.

I wouldn't and neither does anybody else, besides you, consider the White Sox a small market team.

The Sox will eventually relocate across the street again. Hopefully the new building wont look like it belongs on the Maginot Line.

New ownership wont abandon a market with ~10m people and an adjacent state that's 15th in population that has no MLB team. If the Sox did leave there would be a lot of franchises looking to move in to take their place.
