What? It looks as if my comic genius is being wasted here.

I heard them replaying this interview this morning on Comcast.

This thing has really taken on a life of its own.

I don't think the Coach will be too upset with MJH.
This is generating a ton of PR buzz for his cause.

The boys said something at the end of the show last night that it would make the papers, and possibly sportscenter. I'm sure their phone was ringing with requests for tape as soon as Ditka hung up.

I guess this is one way to overcome the innate boringness that is a baseball-oriented radio show...get some combatants on the air and let them go at each other

How about Michael Barrett vs the Cub pitching staff. Barrett vs Zambrano one day, Hill vs Barrett the next day and so on. With a 12 man pitching staff, you can do it every day on MJH going to July.

MJH didn't pick a fight yesterday Coast to Coast.

They simply provided their frequency to allow the two guys to kiss and make up. ;)

I think it was a helluva good promotional opportunity for ESPN1000 and MJH to have them meet in a public forum.

It's not their fault the two don't get along, and they didn't say any "Conrad Dobler" type 'instigating' questions - or squirt any light fluid on the flames.

I think it was kind of funny myself. Ditka cracks me up. He just wants to help broken down football players - and he repeated that yesterday. From time to time he shoots off his mouth without having the facts. He's no worse than our very own President I guess. ;)

You're right, Grid. MJH didn't "pick" the fight -- they just provided the ring for the bout and didn't provide a ref to stop the low blows.

ditka and duerson both had to know this had very real potential to get quite heated and even get personal once they knew they'd be on the air together. if they didnt want to it to turn into something like that, they should have said no to being on the air at the same time.

MJH may have provided the ring, but duerson and da coach provided thier own gloves and trainers

LOL... it was great. Back in the studio, from time to time Mac fanned the flames with a notebook, and Jurko put in a grunt. ....and Harry sprayed Binaca Blast into his cakehole.

CHICAGO (AP) -- Some NFL players will donate part of their paychecks from the league's Dec. 23 games to help needy retired players.

Kansas City Chiefs lineman Kyle Turley said at a news conference to announce the plan Tuesday at Mike Ditka's restaurant that he will donate his entire $25,000 paycheck.

Ditka has been vocal in publicizing the plight of former players who struggle with the effects of lingering physical problems.

Is it me or are a number of the '85 Bears turning out to be real jack asses?

Boy did Turley come back for low end money  He must really have missed the game & locker room.

That has to be vet minimum & I'm sure the Chiefs didn't give a retread much of a signing or roster bonus.

I am done with the '85 Bears. How long can a city kiss the collective behinds of one team (albeit the greatest Chicago team of my lifetime) from 20+ years ago? Although some guys have turned out to be "shady" in their personal lives (Duerson, Gayle), my biggest problem has been the fact that they simply won't go away. Fridge is in hot dog eating contests, Mongo is blabbing on the radio about how Walter wouldn't run out of bounds, Hampton pining for the game the way he used to play it, the formation of the "Super Bowl XX Bears" or whatever they called themselves for merchandising purposes two years ago, etc etc etc. Not to mention The Mike Ditka Human Sellout Experience.

I have run out of gas with the '85 Bears. Its like I want to send a memo: "It's alright, guys. We remember you."

Love the team, will always love the team, will always respect the team. Now leave the rest of us who live in the present alone.

Turley actually had a 2 year deal in 2006, pondered retirement so was released and then resigned with the club to a one year deal. As GD says, it was probably for the vet min to protect them from Turley quitting in camp.
