How hard is it to listen to them talk? I have no idea what Hester is saying and it takes about 5 mins for Peterson to get a word out. I thought he fixed his speech impediment.

Apparently not. Hester has some sound clips where he's not that bad, but others where it's nearly impossible to figure out what he's saying.

Peterson, now being a starter, is going to be asked more questions so I kind of feel bad for this guy.

Hard, but I give Peterson all the credit in the world for not shying away from media interviews. Particularly now, when the spotlight is on him.

I agree about both Hester and Peterson. A good agent would have both of these guys take some classes in public speech and voice coaching. Especially Hester! This guy has huge potential in endorsements and can you imagine a Devin Hester gym shoe. I saw his interview on Comcast after the game Sunday and every other word was "Ya Know." Oh and Hes! Would you cut off your Dreads for a million dollars? Just asking!

It's like the Richard Pryor/Gene Wilder movie where one is deaf and the other one is blind.

I remember during the superbowl press day, on NFL Network it was Hester's turn, and radio stations kept coming up to him and having him read stuff into a microphone and it was just awful. His words are so thick and heavy coming out of his mouth and he doesn't use his teeth or tongue to speak. It's just all mishmashed bloog coming out. He should have a translator walk around with him.

I really don't know if you can "fix" a speech impediment. It's my understanding that he has greatly improved in this area, but I highlty doubt it will ever go away. Plus, if this is the case, imagine what it was like (and what he had to go through) to get to the point he's at now  . I also give him all the credit in the world to not shy away from the media but it is a little painful to watch/listen.

Edit: Maybe he can sing his answers (ala Mel Tillis) and the stuttering will go away  .

[Steven punches him again; lisps]

Peterson gets every benefit of the doubt. He has a legit speech impediment and seems to be doing quite well at working on it.

Hester just plain old can't talk good.
