Yes, I still listen to transition. Wednesday's was a trainwreck.

Jason leads off with this: "Terry, let me ask you...why is it called the 'World Series'?"

Everyone else: :shock: ::silence::

Then he says 'nobody else does this' (they do...NBA banners for one thing say 'world champions') To his credit, he eventually realized his point sucked and gave up with a joke about him needing beer or something. But jesus christ man that was awful.

THEN, the conversation goes to a grinding halt again where he 'challenges' Bernstein about making a prediction on the world series. Fuck we all know Bernstein doesn't care about predictions and said clearly he just doesn't have a feel for this series. Jason was Abbatacola-esque in challenging him on this.

From predictions it went to gambling, and Jason had a great gambling story he had to butt-in with. His buddy...had a strategy for Jason's first time playing roulette...and...he won a lot of money. Cool Vegas story bro.

Then he went BACK to the predictions thing with Bernstein, like he literally didn't understand it.

That was the first 6-7 minutes. The second half of it was actually ok when they got to Bulls talk. But he kept hitting the fucking table. It's an audio medium, how is this still acceptable?

It's no longer referred to as "transition." You need to evolve, otherwise you will forever be on the wrong side of history. Unlike the Score, which is ever-evolving, except when it wasn't, but we don't talk about that anymore.

I believe the Spurs' recent banners declare them "NBA Champions" out of deference to international play, having so many international players. The Spurs are lame here.

First time I ever hit Vegas, my first Table game was Roulette at the Golden Nugget. I just followed some guys strategy, won about $1400. Maay have been the best hour of my life to that point $1400 win in an hour in vegas at 19....YOU CANT STOP ME! YOU CAN ONLY PRAY TO CONTAIN ME!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GET BACK THE BALLYS!!!! I GOT MONEY TO WIN!!!!!! at Ballys lost $900 in 15 minutes, hit the 99 cent chicken wing special across the street at the Barbary Coast!

If anyone claims they have a winning Roulette strategy they are a FUCKING IDIOT! And you need to never speak with that person again.
2.7% edge to house single ZERO, 5.6% Double Zeros. Not terrible, but still they have run the number 1,000,000 more times than your buddy.

Why is it called the National Basketball Association when it has a team in Canada?

Those Banners should say "BEST OF 10 TEAMS!!!"...or BEST OF 8 IN 50's

Exactly, that would've been a good story to tell, and kind of how the conversation was going. Instead Jason leads with 'nah I got a great one for you!', and it was how his buddy's strategy worked for him. And he won a lot of money. It wasn't quite 'Lawrence getting a pizza', but it was a Goffian version of it.

I dont know, you can go look it up. But a large number of the banners came from a league that had 8 and then 10 teams.

Plus Aurebach CUBBED himself into Russell. Basically promoted the guy so much that he made it knkown he would pay Russell big money $25K !! That nobody else would and forced a trade

If Jason's buddy has this foolproof roulette strategy, why isn't his budy a multi millionaire? Anybody ask him that? Also, if it's foolproof, why did Jason stop playing. I would have been at that table until I had to board my plane if you never lose. Anybody ask Jason that? Christ, I would be at roulette tables every day for the rest of my life if I had the can't lose strategy. Or until they told me I couldn't play anymore. Which all casinos have that right if you're winning too much. But then I'd just travel the country to hit casinos.

He's an idiot.

When i was driving home from work the other night (maybe it was last night...seems like a few days ago) I was flipping around the dial and Sir Laurence of Creepy had Goff on as a guest to discuss the NBA.

I kept flipping and landed on WTMJ and the Mark Taushcer and John Kuhn show. They had Aaron Rodgers on as a guest. I stayed tuned into 'TMJ.

That's not true. When I was younger my family went on a couple cruises and me and my younger brother would hit the casinos. He would only play roulette. He actually won a few bucks, not much. I told him it was a bad game to play from an odds perspective, but he told me he had a strategy that was working for him. Asked him what it was and he responded, "I watch the action for awhile and then when I feel like its going to land on black I put $5 on black."

So you're wrong Biggie, there is at least one successful roulette strategy out there.

Cant argue with that strategy!!!

Playing MINI BACARAT in Vegas with a buddy of mine who really doesnt gamble, but once I explained to him you dont do anything outisde of placing the bet, he tried it with me. he actually was doing pretty good. Up maybe $400...I lost my investment and said I was going to play Blackjack. For him to be up $400 was considerable money for a guy who never gambles. So I am thinking he walks away soon. He comes over after half hour, I ask how he did. Says he lost it all........asked why he didnt get up with at least 2oo? he says the dealer said he couldnt leave the table!!!!!!!

You will see players use one of two main strategies:

1) Progressive betting. You put money on a coin flip bet like a blackjack hand or red/black on a roulette table. If they lose, they double their bet with the idea being that they will win the next bet. This strategy all but insures that you win a little bit of money or lose a great deal. Imagine you're betting $5/hand. You betting progression on losses is $5/$10/$20/$40/$80...if you go on a bad streak, you will get torched. I've lost 20+ hands og Blackjack in a row.

2) On games like roulette, some players will cover almost every number. So you pick like 30 numbers on the board. Here again you are likely to either win a little bit or lose a lot.

Neither is a long term profitable strategy.

I lost $400 in 45 minutes at the Elgin casino many moons ago. I haven't taken more than $50 with me to a casino since. Just not worth it.

I've done the first one with a buddy of mine who LOVES to gamble (like probably needs help)... it's basically a game of chicken. Who's willing to double down on a grand?

The second strategy is the same as just betting on a single number over and over. Same odds overall.

I actually played "WAR" in Vegas once. ONCE. I think it was a $10 table, years ago.

After like 18-20 hands, I was up $100, so I colored up, walked away and moved to blackjack across the pit.
My friends, who were talking smack to me the whole time about how bad of a bet it was, were incredulous.
They proceeded to plop down $100 each and lost it in probably a dozen hands.
I clearly had a great strategy, I should have played that table every time I've gone to Vegas. I couldn't possibly lose.

That's called the Martingale strategy, when talking about sports betting. Just keep betting on the team, until they win. That's fine, until they keep losing.

This.

There are still little shitholes in between the mega resorts....not as many as before but they are there.......we spend almost all of our gambling time at this places. They are the best!

We loved Barbary Coast. The old O'Shea's. Silver City. My first trip to Vegas when I turned 21 we stayed at Stardust. It was a complete hole......loved every minute.

Roulette sucks. It worse than sucks. It's boring and a loser bet.
