Obviously, Wilhelm is a right-winger. And sure, at times she makes boneheaded right wing arguments. But in this case, I think her takedown of Dunham and her ilk is spot on. Are women strong? Do they have agency? Or are they helpless victims at the mercy of any man?

Regarding the abortion part of the article, clearly those Planned Parenthood videos are edited in a certain way. But the fact remains, those doctors are saying the things they're saying. They're yukking it up about dead babies over lunch. That's a fact. And that's a loser for the "pro-choice" movement.

I'm an outlier in that I'm against abortion without any religious basis. (Although, I have to admit the possibility that I am influenced to some degree by my Catholic upbringing. I'm not one of the many CSFMB members who is immune to advertising or suggestion.) But my viewpoint is simply that we're celebrating the murder of children. I think in a few hundred years there is a good possibility that people will look back on American society in the late 20th/early 21st century and call us "the people that killed their babies".

This is a conversation that can't be reasonably had with most women of my generation or younger. I've tried it with my wife. It's a conversation that I imagine to be somewhat similar to one that might have taken place between a Southern planter and an abolitionist circa 1840. One side of said conversation being based solely on the "rights" of the person making the argument.

I agree it shouldn't be viewed as a religious issue. The problem with a lot of these things is that people like Seacrest are so obnoxious about their religion that it turns off people who aren't religious. They shouldn't do this, but people then end up viewing the debate in only religious terms and taking a pro-choice stance just to oppose the religious people.

Moral of the story: religious fundamentalists ruin all debates in this country.
