Who is skip? send picts!!!

He's 10.

I name my kids after game show hosts.

You don't even want to know Wink Noisewater.

Had a horrible day. Have to give a 4-hour presentation tomorrow.

Can't kill 15 minutes tomorrow talking about how I conceived my child in the most uninteresting fashion possible.

So I'm having some Scotch until 12:15am.

That's true. I didn't conceive anything.

I was there though. I have a witness.

I would venture to guess the poker playing and drinking were two areas he should done less once he got married. That stuff is fine and good when single or having a girlfriend, but the majority of his time should have spent with his wife and son. Cover band gigs were bringing in some income so there should be no gripes about that.

People shouldn't marry someone and then complain about the person they married. My friend Jerry who died liked to tell a story about when he got married in the early 60s. He played softball six nights a week when he was dating his wife. She would come to the games sometimes. Sometimes they would go out to a bar afterward. The day after they got married he came home from work and grabbed his spikes and bat. His wife looked at him and said, "Where are you going?" He said, "Where the fuck does it look like I'm going? And anyway, don't ever ask me that question again?" Of course, that was a time when a man could be proud of the fact that he had a cock and balls swinging between his legs and the fact that he was the head of the household wasn't an affront to female sensibilities. I'm sure it isn't as easy for Meatpants in the modern era.

Did Jerry quit his Saturday job and say it was, "to spend more time with the family"?

I don't know, but he was always with his grandchildren when I knew him. He told me how great it was hanging out with those kids. He said it like it was a recent discovery. I asked him if he liked hanging out with his own kids when they were little. He said, "How the fuck would I know? I was too busy living my own life back then?"

Wow.

You disagree? I listen to Spiegel sometimes and I cannot figure out how Mac thought that would be a good fit. He's about a million times worse than Harry. Talk about whiny, handed to, feelings blech, it's Spiegel. I can't believe good dolphin supported this.

Meatpants seemed like a different guy on his national show and when he produced. He was hardworking, informed and prepared. I have almost no opportunity to listen to midday radio so I don't know how much this has changed. However, I can surmise from him backing off Hit and Run and skipping work regularly that he is not as dedicated to his craft.

Meat's problem is that he thinks he is a musician with a side gig as a radio host rather than the other way around.

If I remember right the pre show meeting and planning the show out was a Mac thing maybe even with MJH. It makes sense to me you would plan an outline at least and potential guests etc. Not sure if it was right away (I remember Rozner ssaying he could not make them as a fill in) but definitely with Goff no meeting whatsoever.

JORR, I'd have to disagree because marriage is a bunch of compromises. When you're single you definitely live solely for your own needs. When you're married (especially with kids), there's a lot more than going to play softball and then out drinking. You should still be yourself and have fun, but you sure as hell can't do it six nights a week if you expect to have a happy marriage and be a good father. The same applies to the wife.

Marriage only demands "love, honor and cherish", not change. A child demands life changes. Your actions as a parent impact the world for generations

The divorce should help him on his path to become Paul McCartney.

You guys seem pretty sure only his actions caused this split. It's possible also she was on board fully with his "stuff" at marriage and changed later in the process.

I'm sure she was so proud when he happily shared on-air how he ruined his family vacation by getting drunk and having to go to the ER after falling in their hotel hallway.

What's so bad about what he was doing on stage? He's giving his thoughts on being a first time dad. Rag on him all day, but I thought this was cool and genuine.

it was self indulgent crap

Speigs was pretty strange when his kid was born, remembering how he reacted poorly to a Bernstein good natured joke to him on Titter.

I didn't get any of that. Maybe I'm missing something. I'll check it out again.

Seemed to me that he had a new lease on life after becoming a father.

I am not trying to defend that instance but I doubt it caused their split alone.

Of course not. Just saying, he didn't exactly give us many examples of him being Husband of the Year.

didn't he shit the bed on occasion? right there, that's a deal breaker. when they say "for better or worse" shitting the bed is exempted.
