Gotta give credit when credit is due. Gotta give Mitch his props.

Cubs games might be the hottest ticket in town the next 5 years. Kudos.

I think the kudos is above him. Technically, 780 (CBS Radio) bought low from WGN, and then they moved this over to a better format.

Goff was denying they were WCUB a couple of months ago.

Well the did have a contract with your squad, so, gotta let him deny it.

The Sox should just lease time from WMAQ, let North do the post game from his house, fans call in and rip on the team with North. I bet the ratings would rise or be wll above what they are going to be at WLS.

I heard Goff for a few minutes today complaining about the Sox.
He talked about how they had to leave the Thibodeaux press conference for a Sox game
and how that tanked their ratings. Wouldn't they have had to leave it for Cub game?
He also complained about having to do the scheduled Don Cooper interviews and how bad they were.
I can't believe that they never bitched about any of this stuff when it was happening!!!

There is no WMAQ on the radio anymore! You really do hate the White Sox!

Can't imagine Theo can be too happy about moving to "I don't give a fuck" radio.

Funny thing is that this was the exact same thing they were saying in November 2005. How'd that one work out?

Assuming it's a station with a reasonable signal, I don't see how the frequency would affect ratings for a ball game. I'm gonna listen to the Sox on whatever station is broadcasting their games. I have to assume other Sox fans will do the same and that the same thing goes for Cub fans and the Cubs.

Seems pretty obvious that the Score is going to brand themselves as the "Go Cubs Go" station. That will probably improve ratings.

Perhaps for their other shows, but I doubt it will for the actual games. In fact, some of those old fucking Cub fans probably haven't moved their dials off 720 in so many years they can't even get other stations.

I got a feeling that the Cubs current future will be a little brighter than the Sox future during that time period. Just a little, RR. :D

if the Cubs were on, say ESPN 1000, I wouldn't listen because I can't get the station out here. The Score, for all its foibles, is a blowtorch.

Out of context...very unusual on this board.

Doesnt 720 have a crazy range though? I know you can get it in Milwaukee. Is the Score like that?

Can you hear the Score below I-80 (assuming those hilljacks could operate a radio)?

Reminds me of what happened at WGN Radio shortly after it was announced the Cubs were going to WBBM.

Steve Cochran spent days trashing the Cubs and it was pretty low class and bitter.

I don't understand that thought process at all.

This is a great get for The Score. It's like getting The Blackhawks right before the 2009-2010 season.

I can get 670 at night in Ohio, St. Louis, Des Moines, etc...720 goes even further.

I've listened to M&H in Charlotte before. I listened to WLS in Miami very early one morning.
