The 14 year old me is super excited

In recent weeks rumors have been flying about Axl Rose and Slash getting back together for a Guns N' Roses reunion. A new report from Dish Nation claims the announcement of a GN'R reunion is "days away." Slash and Axl last shared the stage on July 17, 1993 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

While we await official word from Axl and Slash that this reunion is in fact truly and finally happening, the report does come after the band's official Twitter feed sent out a series of cryptic tweets and weeks after a Portuguese news outlet claimed a deal had been signed for the classic GN'R lineup to play a two-hour show.

Dish Nation's report goes on to state, "It’s expected that they will headline several festivals across Europe and the United States before heading out on a staggered world tour that will coincide with their 30th anniversary?." We'll see what happens and what the lineup will be if Slash & Axl do reunite.

It isn't whether this starts. It is if it finishes and how explosively.

I'll watch from the sidelines. Has train wreck written all over it. I would be interested to hear how they sound though.
A favorite rock and roll band of mine in high school.

I think I was the perfect age for GnR. I grew up with the band. The videos were awesome. Use Your Illusion seemingly dominated air waves for years.

The first LP and the follow up always has a soft place in my heart. When a early 20's Pittmike was hanging in bars with best friends and endless waves of talent (of chicks) those songs seemed to be on the juke box all the time.

I liked Sweet Child and November Rain which are the two songs most fans of the band probably hate

Sort of amazes me when successful bands break up. They come up through the shit, play all the dives, get successful then end up hating each others guts. Saw a doc on REM where they said the smartest thing they did was peter Buck ( after reading up on why bands break up I guess) insisted early on that the songwriting credits get split 4 ways no matter who wrote what. Mike Mills said at first it pissed him off because why should be lose 75% of a song he wrote but later on credited it for them staying together so long. There is a great documentary currently playing on cable about the band The Jam where they quit at their peak and Paul Weller saying it was a conscious decision because he didn't want too hang around long enough to become irrelevant and everything he and his his music railed against. Of course, the other 2 guys wanted to keep going though

Saw them on the UYI tour in 1993…that was good enough for me.

Based on 2014 footage, he’s not quite as large as that pic, but for a while there he did blow up. Happens to us all.

I hope this happens and will watch from the sideline. AFD is an amazing record. UYI has great moments and some crap filled in. Would make a great single album. I love the covers on there, but they would have been fine left out. I’d even leave “Don’t Cry” off, but that’s just me.

November Rain

Dead Horse

Yesterdays

Your band ever mix in any GNR to your shows?

Cant wait to see what comes of this.

Love everything by GnR. I have read everything I can find on them.

Love them or hate them, everyone has to admit they are one of the greatest bands of all time. They defined a time period of music.

I absolutely cannot stand Nirvana, but I admit their greatness. They defined a time period of music for people.

I did not get to see GnR on tour the first time around, but if this takes place I will seriously consider going to see them.

Very tentatively psyched about this. Once Duff started showing up here and there/filling in for Stinson while he was doing the Replacements thing, it felt like something might eventually happen.

Use Your Illusion(s) is in my top 5 albums of all time. I'm less of a fan of Appetite than most, despite that album being the one that brought me to GNR. Hair Metal...just not a fan. A reunion tour will be glorious, but new material (especially if it's similar in quality to the unfairly disregarded Chinese Democracy) would be ultimate. I was wondering why any talk regarding a Chinese Democracy followup has ceased, seeing as just about every musician that has come and gone through the revolving doors of GNR since 2008 has commented on the copious amounts of material ready to go. This would explain it.

False.

They suck, in my opinion.

True. But I'll still pay for a ticket and rock the fuck out.

I'll say VH w/ Hagar in 2003 or so was damn good. Still had Anthony for backing harmonies. He makes all the difference.
