Wow. I would have thought somebody from a website called "My other ride is your mom" would have been able to offer up some salient points of discussion.

I agree with this. Facebook is both a blessing and a curse usually within the same post.

America calling for nuclear war against a religion.

Makes the "War on Christmas" seem trite.

'Death to Isis' I agree with. Using nukes over there though? That's not gonna be good for anybody.

The interesting part is how many so called "Christians" are part of that call...

I'd extend this to 90% of Facebook participants. I have a page....I enjoy it, but it's junk food. Nothing more. Most people take it way too damn seriously.

I would have had no issue with this being posted last week or a month ago or whatever, but posting it immediately after Friday is terrible. If you are so concerned about the debt owed to Haiti by France, why the fuck haven't you been talking about it before some scumbags kill a bunch of people in Paris?

It reminds me of Boers & bernstein who only very reluctantly talked about hockey, were quite dismissive of the entire sport when a caller wanted to discuss it, yet could find the time to spend half a show bashing Bob Probert upon his death.

I love these because the people who share them are always clueless. Do you realize this happened a year ago? Silence follows

The refugee issue is an understandably tricky and emotional one. However, the anti-Muslim sentiment becoming prevalent not only on Facebook but just in daily interactions is beyond disturbing. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few hate crimes within the next couple months.

I'll put my money on Arizona.

Kansas and Florida should be in the team picture for that one...

I found a meme this morning that I shared on my page that shows a map of Europe that just shows the borders of the countries.
It says" "Please Locate Paris.... I'll Wait ". Now admittedly I didn't care for the I'll Wait portion of the meme but I do realize that
a lot of people would have a difficult time pointing out where Paris is let alone the country of France. It didn't take more than 90
minutes before a woman I am friends with who is a stay at home mom felt she needed to pipe in. Hell, I realized that I thought
Paris was more centrally located in France than it actually is when I checked, so even I learned something from the exercise.

I took it as maybe one should know where they are sending their thoughts and prayers for the people of Paris. I'd guess that more than 1/3 of people here in the U.S.
couldn't even point out France on said map.

I bet it is more than 2/3. And I thought the same thing. The thoughts, prayers and solidarity are all great but it still is laughable that the majority of Americans are unable to locate France on a map.

If you can't recite the latitude and longitude of Paris on demand you are a bad person having sympathy for what happened there.

That isn't the point at all ( when I shared it anyway ). You sound exactly like the stay at home mom that slapped my hand for posting it

I don't see how what I said is different from what you said ("one should know where they are sending their thoughts and prayers for the people of Paris").

Now, I do think it would look silly if someone actively protesting about something happening in a particular part of the world couldn't find that place on a map, and it's probably not good if an adult cannot find France on a map, but not knowing Paris' exact location doesn't really make a difference as far as someone expressing sympathy about what happened.

It's about 200 miles east of omaha beach. I've always wanted to visit France.

Knowing geography outside of your home area is one of the most useless pieces of information you can have. I literally will never need to know where Paris is for anything I ever do and that includes getting to Paris.

But apparently you will need this knowledge to send thoughts and prayers but I am not sure about money.

You seem to have the strange idea that the only "useful" information is that which helps you buy the things you need/want.
